SUMMARY

An Outside Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales and expanding customer base by generating new strategic business within a territory. You will be making business-to-business sales calls from both your home office and the road while closely collaborating with Sales Manager and other support functions at the company headquarters located in Los Angeles, CA. This role will be tasked with growing the customer base, researching and identifying leads on an ongoing basis, and converting these leads into customers.

Job Location:  REMOTE.  Ideal candidate would be located in Central or Northern California.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Interact with new or existing customers to increase sales of JM Eagle products and services.
  • Research and profile potential sales targets to evaluate leads and develop sales pipelines.
  • Create, implement and execute a sales plan to increase market share in a particular territory.
  • Utilize prove sales techniques to initiate contact, assess customer needs, and present relevant solutions that generate revenue for the organization.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations or demonstrations that educate and expose the customer to offerings and drive the sales process.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues in the sales process, ensuring a smooth transaction and positive experience for customers.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of company products and services, competitor positioning, and industry standards.
  • Develop a strong relationship with strategic distributors as well as end users by prospecting and lead follow-up.
  • Sell value-added services and solutions.
  • Uncover new opportunities with customers by leveraging relationships and asking market-related questions.
  • Introduce new materials to customers and educate them on use and applications.
  • In collaboration with Sales Manager and company leaders, develop proposals, contracts, and agreements to secure long-term business.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing, or related field and four (4) years of successful business to business sales development and/or sales management experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Inside or Outside Sales experience in the agricultural / irrigation or building materials industry highly desired.
  • Experience in establishing distribution channels highly desired.
  • Must be able to travel overnight between 50% to 75%.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Knowledge of AS400 and Sales Force a plus.
