Story Terrace wants to make sure every life story is captured and passed on in a meaningful way. Using a global network of ghostwriters who interview customers about their life, and our own project management and content creation software, life stories are turned into books at scale.

Story Terrace is run by an experienced team of 15 with backgrounds in private equity and at Getty Images, Spotify, Yahoo, the BBC, CAA, and UTA. Over the last 12 months sales grew well over 100% and are now over $100K per month. The company is backed by the founders of two unicorns.

The VP Operations will be critical to scaling the company and part of the management team.

Position

The VP Operations will manage our editorial and sales teams across our LA and London offices. This role includes driving operational excellence as well as overseeing strategic and financial planning to enable rapid, scalable growth of the business.

You will be reporting to the founder & CEO and working closely with our CMO and CTO/ Product Manager. You will continuously find ways to improve our production per editor through process improvements and updates to our platform operations, while ensuring that your solutions are highly scalable. You will also identify strong talent to continually build a world class team.

Candidates must be available to start ASAP in Story Terrace’s Beverly Hills office and willing to travel quarterly to London.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing 3 sales managers and 3 managing editors with regional responsibilities
  • Increasing production per editor and improving lead to sales conversion
  • Automating processes using our book creation platform and CRM
  • Developing and refining our operational strategy
  • Managing the global supply chain (e.g. printers)

Experience

  • Recruiting and managing high-performance teams (preferably experienced with managing a remote team)
  • Driving customer facing process improvements in an online environment
  • Negotiating with suppliers
