The company provides industry-leading solutions designed to reach consumers shopping within high-consideration categories such as property and casualty insurance, health and life insurance, personal finance, travel, education and more.

Vice President, Supply Partnerships will be responsible for creating new strategic business development partnerships, as well as working with MediaAlpha’s existing roster of strategic partners in the auto insurance sector (property and casualty).

Responsibilities

Prioritize, target, and close strategic suppliers through a deep understanding of the auto insurance industry, each partner’s business, and the relevant application of company’s solutions.

  • Develop a long-term strategic sales and account management plan and process for the auto insurance sector through a comprehensive, technical, and holistic understanding of the company’s vision and products, marketing tactics, and relevant competitive dynamics and industry trends.
  • Directly manage Account Managers tasked with expanding existing strategic partnerships by following company’s best practices.
  • Effectively and knowledgeably demonstrate the capabilities of the company’s products and communicate the company’s unique, disruptive value proposition to key decision-makers, taking into account the specific needs, concerns, and requirements of each potential partner.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with internal team members, in both Los Angeles and throughout the U.S., to develop relevant sales and marketing materials and to structure, close, and implement partnerships with strategic suppliers.
  • Provide relevant support for all new product and marketing initiatives, as well as recommend new features, products, or marketing strategies based on partner feedback, market trends, competitive dynamics, and internal operational requirements.
  • Establish trusted working relationships with team members and develop a strong understanding of the company’s organization, operations, best practices, and formal and informal processes for allocating resources.
  • Develop and maintain relevant executive-level industry contacts.

Requirements

MediaAlpha seeks a Vice President, Supply Partnerships who will provide strong strategic business development, operational, and people leadership. This leader will bring a demonstrated track record of successful strategic sales and account management experience in a programmatic media environment or other advertising platforms or technology-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will need exceptional teaming, collaboration, sales, and influencing skills.

  • A minimum of 10 years of strategic sales experience in online advertising-related, client-facing roles, of which a minimum of 2 years is in a programmatic media environment.
  • Experience with long sales cycles and key account management involving multiple decision makers.
  • Proven track record of successfully influencing and selling abilities, with the necessary gravitas and sophistication to work successfully in a matrixed company and with senior-level external customers.
  • Successful track record growing and expanding advertising revenues with large national companies.
  • Experience selling platforms or other technology-driven solutions requiring a thorough understanding of a technical product, multi-phase sales cycle, and an education or solution-based sales approach.
  • Exceptionally analytical, data-driven mindset.
  • Strong process orientation, with a track record of building and continuously improving business processes that deliver results.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation communication skills, with the ability to articulate and communicate clearly, concisely, and thoughtfully.
  • Ability and willingness to work autonomously as a hands-on, individual contributor, but with the requisite experience and maturity to coordinate efficiently with other team members and build and lead a team.
  • A network of relevant insurance experience would be a plus.
