Technical Specialist, Payroll
As a Technical Specialist - Payroll, you will be a core piece of the support team with strong ties to the Payroll product tribe, influence the company's continued success, and represent the face of ServiceTitan to its customers. The Payroll Support Specialist will act as a unique resource for all of ServiceTitan and be an expert on ServiceTitan payroll and timesheets. You will have a direct line to this Product tribe and assist them with identifying relevant needs and troubleshooting related issues.
As a Technical Specialist, Payroll, you will:
Increase Support team knowledge by assisting with cases for Payroll and Timesheets functionality
Create, deliver and maintain necessary training and documentation on Payroll related components for customer-facing teams
Partner with CX management and Payroll Product Managers on projects requiring additional assistance in the development and maintenance of this product area
Support ServiceTitan employees requiring assistance with issues and questions
Perform bug triage for engineers to ensure the legitimacy of the bug
Serve as a liaison to the Payroll Product tribe and funnel common use cases and challenges to help inform the product roadmap
Author documentation on or assist customers/internal staff with use of all reporting tools
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
At least 2-5 years of experience as a payroll specialist and/or supporting payroll related systems
Deep familiarity with payroll administration, payroll audit, and the application of best practice payroll processes including:
Employee onboarding and withholding setup
Benefit deductions, garnishments, and funds remittance
PTO accrual and consumption
Overtime compliance (FLSA, California, and all others)
Demonstrated expertise in technical troubleshooting for all issues relating to our customers Payroll inquiries
Excellent people skills: must be personable, patient, and good-humored
An intelligent and effective problem-solver
Exceptional customer relationship skills and a clear view on what constitutes excellent customer service
A team player with exemplary verbal and written communication skills to facilitate daily interaction with customers
Must be able to juggle and prioritize many simultaneous tasks while working through ambiguity
SQL knowledge is a plus, but not required.
