SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing service to internal and external customers including laboratory and maintenance service staff by maintaining supplies, equipment and furniture necessary to perform projects.

• Coordinates efforts to obtain materials to satisfy backorders.
• Expedites and coordinates the delivery process when possible.
• Receives items for stores and warehouses.
• Processes and inputs data into inventory database.
• Fills and processes material requisitions.
• Operates forklifts. Drives company van for pickups and deliveries.
• Maintains forklift and company van inspection logs.REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Typically 2 or more years of relevant experience with certification in assigned area
• Forklift certification
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Safety and hazardous materials training
• Basic office and computer skills
• Customer service orientation
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
• Must work well in a team environment
• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
• Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
• Strong written and oral communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS:
• Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may visit locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces, and may be exposed to seasonal elements.
• Intermittent travel to gain access to work areas and buildings.
• Work involves safe operation of mechanical freight handling equipment and material handling equipment such as a forklift.
• Position requires lifting and carrying heavy objects.
• May involve transporting hazardous materials, or exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.
