The Global Partnership (GP) team's mission is to collaborate with international governments, industry, and other U.S. Government departments and agencies on space systems development and acquisition. Through close coordination with key U.S. departments and agencies, the GP team brings space systems expertise to develop space cooperation with international partners and commercial entities that enhances the US DoD space architecture's effectiveness and resiliency. As an Associate Systems Director, you will provide leadership to a technical team, coordinate with counterpart organizations, management, and customers, and plan/direct the technical office staff in executing the efforts to achieve the stated mission.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and guide a technical Global Partnership team to develop international space security cooperation partnerships, in close coordination with SSC Space Program Offices and Portfolio Architects, to design and acquire space systems that are interoperable and complimentary to the US DoD space war-fighting capabilities and architecture
- Leverage your technical acumen and soft-people skills as technical advisors to our Space Systems Command International Affairs (SSC/IA) customer
- Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to provide cross-portfolio perspectives, analysis, and strategic partnership engagements direction, as well as the partnership integration focal point to the SMC acquisition programs for those mission area(s) IPT
- Conduct staff performance reviews and recommends performance improvement, career development, salary, and promotion actions; establishes staffing needs and recommends reassignments, training, transfers, and other staff deployments; assists other supervisors in evaluation and assignment of staff. Monitors and directs organization's security processes, compliance, and safety awareness.

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in applicable STEM areas or other discipline
- Demonstrated leadership qualities (e.g., effective communication, organization, vision, strategic mindset, people management and interpersonal skills, relevant knowledge) with proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of contractors, government customers, Aerospace program offices, and engineering staff.
- 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and applicable experience in engineering or technical roles
- Experience in space systems acquisition, design, or production
- Having motivated positive mentality and success driven approach to tackle fast-pace and dynamic challenges
- Willing to travel domestically/internationally approximately 25%
- Current US Secret clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a US Top Secret security clearance with Special Access controls (e.g. SCI, SAP), which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Previous acquisition and/or technical experience with US and International systems in one or more mission areas, such as MILSATCOM, Space Domain Awareness, Space Command and Control, Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, & Reconnaissance.
- Previous experience in working the Arms Export Control Act, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), export control, technology transfer, and foreign disclosure matters
- Previous experience in developing international armaments cooperation partnerships and agreements.
- Demonstrated leadership in broad, multidisciplinary teams involving system design, acquisition and/or operations in one or more of the following areas: satellite systems, ground systems, launch systems, spacecraft buses, and spacecraft payloads
- Experience with federal and/or military acquisition processes and policies
- Current TS/SCI clearance and access
