Job Objective: Sales Engineers will be driving all technical aspects of our sales process, teaming very closely alongside our Sales Account Executives with a set of government and enterprise accounts. Ideal candidates are motivated and focused on the strategic value of our solutions with the ability to develop trusted relationships at an executive level. Successful Sales Engineers have a concrete understanding of the difficult challenges facing our customers and deep understanding of how to identify areas that can be resolved with our High-Power Microwave (HPM) and SmartPower product suites. Candidates play a key role in navigating complex accounts in order to generate and deliver winning proposals, contract bids, statements of work, and RFI/RFP responses. Customer and partner focus, along with building and nurturing relationships, is critical to this role.


Duties:

  • Work alongside Account Executives to help acquire, lead, and develop major accounts within your assigned territory
  • Strong account management skills to identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within targeted accounts with the ability to understand the application of Epirus technology into direct and adjacent solutions
  • Conduct effective technical presentations to corporate and director level technology executives
  • Helping to establish account plans to successfully use of company technical resources where and when applicable to significantly grow the business
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of HPM and SmartPower products, and competitor offerings
  • Design and drive Proof-of-Concept activities for your customer accounts to quickly move a customer along the buying journey
  • Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor to your customers with the ability to quickly answer questions and inquiries about how Epirus technology functions

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience as a successful pre-sales Sales Engineer in the Department of Defense, Power Management area, systems integrator or equivalent experience
  • Successful track record of exceeding annual sales quotas
  • Prior experience helping to sell complex technical products. Ability to map Epirus’ solutions and features to a customer mission and problem statement
  • Experience working with system integration partners, and OEM’s
  • Successful experience and understanding of federal government funding cycles and procurement processes
  • Enterprise System Engineering experience with an actionable set of contacts
  • Travel required
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field.
  • Technical certifications or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, including presentation skills for clients and partners
  • Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of processes and complexities around products and technology along with 3rd party software and hardware integration(s)
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex multivariate problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick resolution
  • Mature and effective time-management skills

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $74,000 - $145,000.

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
