PeerStreet is seeking a Mortgage Document Specialist to be a part of the Paralegal team. Our Paralegal team is at the heart of PeerStreet’s business and this is a crucial role for the Real Estate team. We’re looking for motivated candidates with prior real estate experience that have acute attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manages all clerical tasks necessary to facilitate timely closing of loans after underwriting.
• Compiles and reviews loan documentation and ensures that all conditions and requirements for closing are met.
• Assist with preparation of legal documents and draft routine letters and other correspondence, and review and edit prepared documents for formatting and accuracy.
• Work with our lender partners and collaborate with internal real estate and account management teams to close real estate transactions.
• Communicate with and assist in distribution of agreements/documentation to internal and external clients on a regular basis.
• Help implement best practices across multiple business departments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of real estate or title company legal experience.
• Frequent and clear written communication is a must.
• Strong attention to detail is a must.
• Must be extremely resourceful and effective at maintaining a high level of confidentiality in terms of the dissemination of information/communication within the department as well as externally.
• Proven ability to manage multiple, frequently changing priorities and office tasks in a calm and systematic manner.
• Self-driven work ethic. 
• Curiosity and the desire to learn. 
• Being tech-savvy in general is a huge plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
