Team Overview

As the Engineering Manager, you will own the SRE roadmap and technical landscape for the Cloud Infrastructure powering our services. You will spend part of your time coaching and empowering engineers and collaborating with Software Development squads to deliver highly available, resilient and dependable infrastructure. 

We are looking for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, is passionate about finding innovative solutions and inspires colleagues. This role reports to the Director of Infrastructure Engineering.

This role is responsible for the Site Reliability Engineering Team at Dave.

What You'll Do

• Build highly scalable, performant, and secured infrastructure to provide highly trusted Banking service to our customers.
• Empower engineers and product teams to deliver high quality service productively.
• When required, roll up the sleeves and get involved to help troubleshoot and solve issues.
• Scale the group through a period of rapid company growth by attracting, hiring, mentoring, retaining top-tier talent, and managing performance.
• Build and hire a diverse team - fostering a collaborative and an inclusive environment. Motivate, mentor, teach, and guide others as we strive to develop successful independent teams that solve problems efficiently and move fast with quality in mind.
• Take an active role in project management, Scrum activities and day to day execution of the SRE roadmap.
• Partner with Engineering, Data, Security to build highly scalable, performant, and secured infrastructure and provide highly trusted Banking service to our customers.
• Partner with Product and Project managers to plan resources accordingly
• Deliver high performance, scalable, and secured financial products and services with priority on major initiatives
• Drive the technology vision and roadmap for the group.
• Deliver architecture transformation.
• Organize, plan and execute projects from start to finish.
• Build positive, trusting relationships through consistent, on-time delivery of commitments and effective communication.

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of hands-on infrastructure and engineering experience in AWS or GCP
• 3+ years of Kubernetes experience
• 3+ years leading and managing Infrastructure Engineering teams of 5+ engineers 
• Experience scaling teams past 10+
• Successful track record growing teams including hiring, coaching, and grooming future leaders
• Experience with architecture transformation from monolithic to microservices, SOA, or equivalent
• Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Experience in a hyper-growth company
• Fintech experiences like payment, banking, and credit are optional, but a big plus.
