Manager, Network Engineering

We’re looking for a Manager, Network Engineering to join Snap Inc! As a member of the IT team, you’ll be supporting the networks, as well as systems and tools that keep the business growing and our information safe.
What you’ll do:
- Manage network engineers and admins who build and operate on our global wired, wireless, and IPAN infrastructure
- Define and drive development of a strategic roadmap to drive connectivity solutions and support productivity at Snap
- Focus on supporting and growing your team while being able to drive technical conversations and to ask the right questions
- Engineer and implement new solutions to meet business and performance requirements
- Lead your team to evaluate new technologies, prioritize their acquisition, and make decisions in alignment with IT roadmaps and business requirements
- Partner across IT and Security to bring alignment on projects and roadmaps
- Manage and maintain operational metrics, goals, and project timelines
- Communicate timelines, network dependencies, resource constraints, and progress with key stakeholders timely and effectively
- Forecast and maintain an annual budget as well as construct business cases for new network initiatives
- Manage vendor services ranging from internet service providers to contract worker resources.
- Identify resource needs, participate in recruiting efforts, and hiring to grow the team
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
- Occasional travel
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years of managing a networking engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in core network technologies, including routing, switching, implementation and design
- 5+ years Network Security technologies including:
- Firewall administration, NAT, PAT, IPSec and SSL VPN, network access lists
- A proven track record of success in driving operational excellence, including coordinating and driving projects and issues to resolution autonomously utilizing excellent judgment skills
