The Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations with a reputation for building high performance, fast growth and modern companies from the ground up. Working alongside our CEO, the position has full responsibility for the efficient execution and implementation of the Company’s vision and strategy.

Responsibilities:

The Head of Operations will have the responsibility for the execution of the business plan and building a highly esteemed and reputable company from the ground up. 

Key responsibilities include the execution of our commercial strategy, launching and deploying our B2B marketplace, building a foundation with efficient systems and procedures, day to day management of the company and its workforce, recruiting and managing 10X talent (A-Players), managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and accountability, driving profitability and growth and leading a high performance and committed culture — all in about six months.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing and managing the Company’s operations to drive growth and meet budget, strategic, financial and operational goals. Functional areas include the Company’s commercial strategy deployment, business development, sales, marketing, procurement, supply chain, human resources, and customer serviceManagement of key strategic initiatives working cross-functionally to drive business performance and exceed OKRs and KPIs
  • Financial performance, fundraising, budgeting and P&L management
  • Management of day to day operations and all HR functions including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, offboarding, performance evaluations, accountability, compensation and talent development
  • Embodying and leading a high-performance and excellence driven culture aligned with the Company’s vision
  • Implementation of best practices and adherence to compliance
  • Coordinating and overseeing legal matters including client contracts, partnership agreements and leases
  • Developing, maintaining and growing strategic relationships and partnerships with sellers, buyers and other service providers

 

Requirements:

The successful candidate is a hands-on leader and manager who is eager to roll up his/her sleeves and build a global company from the ground up. The role requires a professional operator who is self-motivated, a relentless doer, humble, strives for excellence and is experienced in building fast growth and high performance companies. You must have the audacity, integrity and commitment to modernizing multibillion-dollar industries in international trade, supply chain, commodities and raw materials. Strong business acumen with a 24/7 work ethic mentality is a must. 

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Business Administration or relevant field from a top-ranking university
  • Solid reputation for building and managing high quality, fast growth and high performance companies from the ground up (early-stage) with an excellent track record of exceeding goals
  • Proven track record as a business operator in a relevant management or leadership position such as President, COO, GM or similar
  • Expertise in Business Plan development and implementation
  • Experience in B2B, e-commerce, marketplace or platform business models
  • Strong network of business and technology professionals
  • Experience in strategic sales, business development and go-to-market strategy design and implementation
  • Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure, software development, CRM, ERP systems and productivity tools (i.e., Slack, Workday, Atlassian Confluence)
