About the Clinical Quality Director (Temp) at Headspace:

Headspace exists to improve the health and happiness of the world, and we are expanding our capabilities to deliver on that mission. We are in search of an extraordinary clinician leader who wants to help grow a new mental health initiative within a leading digital wellness organization. We are looking for a passionate & caring but driven individual to help us grow. The ideal candidate has significant experience managing a large team of mental health professionals, and a proven ability to build and lead clinician culture within a mental health organization. In addition, the ideal candidate has had a successful history leading and overseeing the implementation of evidence-based practice, developing and delivering continuing education and/or training programs, and ensuring clinical quality. We are looking for a go-getter who is not afraid to put in the time and effort to build a best-in-class clinical program from the ground up.

The Clinical Quality Director will join a cross-functional team reporting to the Director of Behavioral Science. This individual will be a key member of the leadership team responsible for building new mental health products and services for our business-to-business (B2B) customers, responsible for ensuring clinical quality across the board. 

This is a temporary, project-based role with the potential to transition to a permanent position after three months.

Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California, New York, Florida, Georgia, Texas, Maryland + Washington DC, North Carolina and Washington. 

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:

  • Consult with project team and third parties as needed to define all aspects of clinical workflows for a large team of mental health professionals providing teletherapy 
  • Develops, refine and monitors appropriate clinical productivity (i.e., direct service) expectations for all outpatient clinical services staff members.
  • Serve as the organization's clinical liaison to third party vendors and customers 
  • Develop provider training, onboarding, and professional development programming
  • Design ongoing quality monitoring program to ensure fidelity to evidence-based practice 
  • Create a supportive, inclusive work culture where mental health professionals thrive 

What you’ve accomplished:

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, behavioral science, or closely related field; PhD/PsyD preferred 
  • Current, active license to provide mental health services 
  • Comfort working in an early- or mid-stage company; readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements
  • 5+ years experience managing clinical teams, preferably in telehealth/virtual care/digital health settings
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Ideal candidate has expertise in evidence-based interventions that integrate mindfulness as a key component of behavior change (e.g. ACT, MBCT, MBSR, etc.)

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
