We are one of the largest Organic Medjool Date growers in California. Our organic farms are based in the sunny Coachella Valley with our HQ based in Santa Monica. Medjool Dates, also known as the king of dates, have been loved and appreciated for centuries for the incredible benefits and luscious taste. Although the Farms have been well established, the initiative to sell and market our own Organic Dates is new. We are a fast growing, healthy food start-up seeking to associate with those who share our passion and energy for spreading the word on the delicious nutritious benefits of Organic Medjool Dates. Unlike many start-ups, we are will funded to fuel our growth. 

 

Job Summary:

Excellent customer service and overall administrative support to executives across all departments. Daily activities will include but not be limited to; financial and accounting activities, submit and reconcile expense reports, organizing and scheduling meetings, answer and direct phone calls, handle office tasks such as filing, generating reports and presentations and reordering supplies.

 

You must have the ability to take direction and thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment. We are looking for someone friendly, reliable, detailed oriented, and flexible. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously is key.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • QuickBooks inputting, reports, and maintenance
  • AP/AR Management
  • Oversee vendor and customer credit references
  • Payroll tasks
  • Reconciliation of payments and monthly reporting
  • Assist with budgets, analysis and tracking
  • Filing and clerical work
  • Preparation for year-end tax filings to be done with our tax team
  • Correspond with vendors, suppliers, and offsite employees
  • Additional administrative responsibilities as directed by leadership

 

Must Have Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • 2-4+ years of verifiable accounting/bookkeeping experience required
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized; have excellent mathematical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills in English
  • Able to interface with other departments and teams in a professional, team player manner
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, critical-thinking skills
  • Proactive; able to identify problems and initiate corrective actions
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • High proficiency with office software, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s/College degree (Accounting, Business Management or equivalent), preferred
  • 2+ years’ work experience in executive administration and customer service, preferably in the food/beverage/hospitality/natural product industry and/or wholesale/warehouse sales industry
