About the Role:

Industrious is the fastest growing coworking business in the US. Your role will be to oversee a new partnership for Industrious on the Howard Hughes campus in Los Angeles.  Your role will require a breadth of diverse skills: you might spend the day coaching and inspiring your team members, project-managing local marketing efforts, structuring and overseeing a major initiative to improve the experience of office tenants, pitching in on a large sale to an enterprise user, or motivating one of your team members around customer experience.

Your role is critical both because a) we are expanding rapidly to 100+ locations in the coming year and b) you are leading a major, new high-profile company initiative. Success will mean providing a happier, more productive, and more connected workplace for thousands of amazing members, and a highly engaged and effective team of community.

As Area Manager, you will:

  • Directly manage a team of 2-3 community managers, who are each supported by one or more operations associates to deliver on P&L, customer satisfaction and experience quality goals; manage the P&L for your area, and make prudent decisions around spend
  • Directly manage a team responsible for the day-to-day experience of thousands of tenants in a major, high-profile corporate campus
  • Directly manage a team responsible for driving revenue-generating events and conference services
  • Collaborate with and/or manage functional specialists such as a local marketing manager and enterprise sales lead
  • Strengthen your team, build a culture of excellence and hospitality, and develop future Industrious leaders through in-depth coaching, performance management and hiring
  • Serve as the face of the business in your area. This will include playing a hands-on role in sales, engaging in negotiations with large potential members, handling local PR requests, structuring and overseeing a go-to-market plan, and resolving challenging member relations issues
  • Collaboratively partner with your regional manager, the marketing team, the centralized operations team and other area and regional leaders to adjust and implement the company’s strategy, systems and processes
  • As necessary, partner closely with the launch team to execute against hiring, marketing, and sales goals for newly launching locations in your area
  • Analyze, report on and take action against key performance metrics, including, but not limited to: Net Promoter Score, Revenue and Profit vs. targets, Performance against Hospitality Standards, and Operational Consistency
  • Proactively identify and drive implementation of opportunities for improvement across all elements of our unit operations
  • As necessary, perform on-the-ground coverage for your team members while they are out on vacation

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire 10+ person teams to deliver exceptional results
  • Experience managing local marketing and sales efforts for a high-growth company
  • Experience in a management role in an events or conferencing business
  • Strong knowledge of the Central-West LA market (Playa Vista, Culver City, etc)
  • High degree of comfort working in a team with other executives
  • Strong management and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to comfortably handle difficult conversations
  • Comfort with numbers and experience working in a metrics-based management culture
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to oversee Industrious locations in your region
  • Passion for creating exceptional customer experiences
  • Experience managing a P&L
  • Experience driving local marketing and sales
  • Bachelor’s degree
