As a company, we believe in honesty, relentless execution, future-oriented thinking, entrepreneurial innovation, and keeping perspective and a sense of humor. We’re looking for a powerhouse Operations Strategist to join us.

The Operations Strategist will support the operations team at Neon Flux in managing projects, optimizing processes, and solving problems across all Neon Flux operations. Whether establishing a new workflow, taking ongoing ownership of specific processes for a portfolio, or parachuting in to find an innovative solution to a specific problem, the Operations Strategist will supercharge our team’s effectiveness across functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations team in driving consistent, productive, efficient processes across the organization
  • Support Operations team in setting and managing KPIs; project management for key initiatives
  • Providing ongoing operational support within the portfolio (e.g. helping to manage vendor relationships, assisting in solving escalated customer problems, supporting new product launches) as well as solving one-off business problems
  • Managing internal & external communications
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-2 years work experience in a professional environment, ideally in business operations, technology, telemedicine/digital health, product management, product marketing, consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience with project management, ideally coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with basic financial modeling: able to read and understand financial models required, ability to create basic models a plus.
  • Experience creating elegant and effective presentations in Microsoft Powerpoint or Google Slides.

  • You are curious, a fast learner, and a “doer:” you balance understanding and execution, and have the drive to get things done in a fast-paced work environment.
  • You’re scrappy & proactive. You’re comfortable taking initiative, tackling new challenges, and solving business problems without established precedent.
  • You’re detail-oriented, with a track record of managing complex projects, and you never let “the little things” fall through the cracks.
  • You’re a team player who builds strong and positive working relationships.
  • You share our team’s can-do attitude about goals large and small: you’re excited to share strategy ideas and tackle big challenges, and no unglamorous task is too small for you.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
