The Role

We’re looking for a Data Operations Analyst to join our team. This role blends business intelligence, operations, and technical problem-solving. You’ll help us build and maintain reporting, but you’ll also dig into operational workflows, member support cases, and client onboarding/offboarding processes.

You’ll work closely with Client Success, Operations, Engineering, and other teams to ensure our data and systems run smoothly, and you’ll have the autonomy to take on varied projects that improve how we deliver value to clients and members.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven startup, loves finding patterns in messy data and resolutions to tough problems, and wants to influence both product and client strategy.

This is a full-time, contract role with the potential to transition into a regular employee position based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, QA, and maintain dashboards and visualizations for client reporting and internal insights.
  • Partner with Client Success to resolve member data issues and technical support escalations.
  • Manage client onboarding/offboarding processes, including file management, data checks, and quality assurance.
  • Improve internal data operations processes, identifying opportunities to automate or streamline workflows.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into clear requirements.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and reporting requests across the business.
  • Join client calls to help Client Success Managers ask the right data-related questions and share data stories.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in an analyst, operations, or similar technical role at a SaaS or tech company.
  • Hands on experience using data visualization tools to build clean, informative dashboards that tell compelling stories through data.
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Metabase, Looker, Tableau or similar is a plus.
  • Comfort working with data - SQL experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain data clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort participating in ad hoc client-facing meetings.
  • A problem-solver’s mindset: you like diagnosing issues and finding practical solutions.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience working with product engagement or behavioral data.
  • Experience supporting client success, implementation, or technical support teams.
  • Exposure to data pipelines, ETL tools, or light scripting.
  • Experience in a scaling SaaS environment.
Benefits
  • Remote-first company structure
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth at a fast-growing startup at the cutting edge intersection of financial wellness and technology

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
