The Role

The Open Trading Specialist plays a critical role in driving the growth and effectiveness of MarketAxess’s Open Trading marketplace. This individual will act at the intersection of trading, sales, and client engagement—building strong relationships with dealer and client desks while actively facilitating liquidity and trade execution across the platform.

In this role, you will proactively identify trading opportunities, help match supply and demand, and contribute to the overall efficiency and integrity of the Open Trading ecosystem. You will serve as a key point of contact for market participants, providing insight into trading activity, pricing dynamics, and market trends, while ensuring a high-quality experience for both dealers and clients.

Success in this position requires a strong understanding of fixed income markets, a commercial mindset, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work closely with Sales, Client Services, and Product teams to support strategic initiatives, enhance platform adoption, and drive continued growth of Open Trading globally.

How You'll Help Take Us There

  • Resolution of trade disputes in collaboration with Dealer and Client Sales, and the Customer Services teams.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with dealer and client desks to support Open Trading activity.
  • Partner with Sales to drive Open Trading growth in the U.S., including supporting strategic initiatives and new product development to expand the global business.
  • Develop deeper relationships with sell-side traders, serving as a resource for pricing data and market insights.
  • Report Open Trading performance, trends, and insights to management on a regular basis
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to provide feedback on emerging AI-enabled trading, workflow, and analytics capabilities that support the evolution of the Open Trading marketplace.

  • Contribution to overall team workload and effectiveness.
  • Growth in Open Trading participation across the region.
  • Ability to mitigate trading risk and uphold MarketAxess’s reputation as a high-quality counterparty.

What We’re Looking for  

  • 5+ years of strong product knowledge in fixed income markets.
  • Experience in a front office role at a broker/dealer and/or within the interdealer corporate credit trading environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accountability, focus, and attention to detail.
  • Service-oriented with a strong results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency, including the ability to effectively leverage generative AI and intelligent workflow tools to research, analyze information, improve productivity, and enhance decision-making.
  • Series 7 & 63 required

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $135,000 USD to $185,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
