What We'll Bring:

At TransUnion, we’re transforming how data and identity fuel activation across the advertising ecosystem. As part of our TruAudience platform, you’ll lead a team responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of activation onboarding pipelines that deliver precision, speed, and scale. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering, and partner teams to shape the next generation of audience delivery solutions — leveraging APIs, automation, and cloud technologies to enable a unified, intelligent onboarding experience.
Come be a part of our team – you’ll work with great people, pioneering products and cutting-edge technology.

What You'll Bring:

A forward-thinking technical leader who combines strong data onboarding expertise with an API-first mindset and a passion for building scalable, cloud-based ecosystems. You’re able to balance operational detail with strategic vision, enabling your team to deliver consistent, high-quality activation outcomes across an ever-evolving adtech landscape.

  • 7+ years of industry experience in adtech, martech, or data onboarding; 2+ years in a leadership capacity for technical or client-facing teams.
  • Strong understanding of data identity, audience segmentation, and taxonomy frameworks, including mapping, normalization, and hierarchical transformation across DSP/DMP ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable technical workflows, with strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Track record of process automation, including building reusable onboarding templates, scheduling pipelines, and implementing monitoring/alerting strategies.
  • Cloud fluency across AWS, GCS or Snowflake ecosystems: experience designing and optimizing data ingestion, storage, and transformation pipelines (S3, Lambda, and SQL-based transformation).
  • Fundamental understanding of ETL core concepts, best practices, governance, and performance tracking.
  • Experience mentoring technical staff and leading cross-functional initiatives that reduce delivery timelines and improve onboarding reliability.
    Nice to Have
    • Proven expertise with API-driven integrations, including REST/GraphQL architectures, authentication standards (OAuth2, API Key), payload optimization, and error-handling frameworks.
    • Understanding of audience activation APIs (e.g., Google, The Trade Desk, LiveRamp, VideoAmp, etc.) and measurement interoperability.
    • Experience integrating observability frameworks for API-based.
    • Hands-on with Python, SQL, or Airflow for data orchestration.
    • Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, and IAB standards).

    Impact You'll Make:

    • Lead and scale the Data Enablement function — owning the end-to-end process from partner intake and data mapping through delivery validation and performance optimization.
    • Architect and oversee onboarding workflows leveraging APIs and cloud-native tools to drive automation, reliability, and repeatability.
    • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define feature requirements and feedback loops for configuration & troubleshooting tooling, KPI tracking, onboarding APIs, taxonomy services, and cloud strategy implementation.
    • Own SLA performance for high-priority client and partner deliveries, using data-driven metrics to monitor match rates, ingestion success, and delivery latency.
    • Mentor and develop team members, building a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Represent the Activation function in roadmap discussions and strategic initiatives, ensuring business alignment with TU’s evolving data and identity ecosystem.

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with applicable law, including the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and the California Fair Chance Act.

Adherence to Company policies, sound judgment and trustworthiness, working safely, communicating respectfully, and safeguarding business operations, confidential and proprietary information, and the Company’s reputation are also essential expectations of this position.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

    • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
    • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
    • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
    • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
    • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
    • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
