SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

OFFLINE PAID MEDIA LEAD (STARLINK)

The Paid Media team is seeking a Paid Media Lead to scale our offline media efforts globally across audio, TV, and out-of-home. This person will play a key role in the strategy, execution, and performance of our offline media programs — helping Starlink reach new audiences, build brand awareness, and drive high-quality leads to the site.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of offline media and integrated marketing strategy. You’ll partner closely with design, content, product, and external partners to define the channel roadmap, media planning, campaign execution, and measurement to drive brand awareness and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own research, planning, budgeting, execution, and optimization of offline media campaigns across audio (e.g., podcasts, radio), video (e.g., linear TV, CTV, streaming), and out-of-home
  • Partner with product and content teams to develop creative messaging tailored to the target audience for offline media, while ensuring consistency in brand communication across different formats
  • Lead media agency partners in campaign scoping, media planning, creative execution, and contracting
  • Conduct brand awareness and market research on the target audience to inform creative strategy and media mix for offline campaign activation
  • Develop offline media marketing roadmap in priority markets, defining local tentpole moments and key activations across offline marketing channels
  • Test new offline formats and publishers to uncover scalable growth levers
  • Oversee campaign timelines, asset delivery, and legal compliance across all offline channels
  • Work closely with the data analytics and paid media teams to implement campaign reporting and measurement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related fields
  • 3+ years of professional experience in offline media channels (audio, OOH, TV, print etc.), including hands-on experience negotiating with publishers, networks, and media vendors to secure favorable rates and placements

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Deep understanding of paid media (all channels) and strong knowledge of the media industry
  • Experience leading media agencies on campaign strategy and execution
  • Proven success and expertise in building integrated global marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness across all offline channels
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to autonomously lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with advanced measurement and analytics, including brand lift, awareness survey, incrementality, and media mix modeling
  • Independently motivated, with a track record of project ownership and delivering measurable results

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work in office five days per week
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends, as needed
  • Willingness to travel to other SpaceX locations and events, as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Level III: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
