Who We Are

Serval is the AI platform for IT teams — replacing legacy systems like ServiceNow with automation that frees people to focus on meaningful work. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by innovative companies such as Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, Mercor, Langchain, and Verkada to automate more than 50% of their IT tickets.

Serval "automates the automation," using a natural language-to-code workflow builder and AI agents that discover and deliver automations for tedious IT workflows. What started as IT automation has expanded into a horizontal automation engine adopted by HR, Finance, Legal, Security, and Engineering teams.

Our mission is to free IT departments from the #helpdesk channel by creating the simplest way to automate employee onboarding/offboarding, software access management, and the long tail of employee requests. Long term, our vision is to develop a universal workflow automation and enterprise service management platform for all business functions.

We're backed by industry-leading investors, including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, and others, and founded by product and engineering leaders from Verkada.

Role Overview

As Office Manager, you will own the operational backbone of Serval’s headquarters. You’ll ensure our workplace runs seamlessly — from facilities and vendors to internal events and employee experience — enabling the team to do the best work of their careers.

You will directly shape how it feels to work at Serval. This role is hands-on. You will directly execute internal events, manage day-to-day logistics, and shape the physical environment in ways that make it energizing, organized, and high-performing.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on operational excellence, has true hospitality mindset, and understands how environment drives performance.

What You’ll Do
  • Own end-to-end office operations, including facilities, supplies, equipment, and vendor management.

  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts, ensuring strong service standards and cost discipline.

  • Ensure workplace health, safety, and security compliance.

  • Help plan and execute internal events (all-hands, offsites, team gatherings).

  • Maintain operational readiness of the office at all times.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for workplace-related needs.

  • Be the first point of contact for all guests, ensuring a professional and welcoming office experience.

  • Continuously improve systems and processes to reduce friction and elevate the employee.

What You’ll Need
  • Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail.

  • Clear, professional communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Comfort working cross-functionally with leadership, finance, and HR stakeholders.

  • A genuine hospitality mindset and creating thoughtful experiences — you anticipate needs, sweat the details, and take pride in seamless execution.

  • Comfort owning logistics end-to-end in a highly accountable role.

  • Finds satisfaction in making things run seamlessly behind the scenes.

Nice to Have
  • 2+ years of experience in office management, workplace operations, or administrative leadership.

  • Experience in a high-growth startup or scaling organization.

  • Experience hosting and planning events from ideation to execution

  • Track record of improving office efficiency, reducing costs, or enhancing employee experience.

  • Interest in building a culture-forward, operationally disciplined workplace from the ground up.

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.

  • Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.

  • Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
