Who we are

Picogrid is a leading venture-backed defense technology company founded to bridge the decades-long gap between modern technology and the critical demands of national security. Today, we're building the essential infrastructure to unify sensors, autonomy, and operators with our technology deployed in active operations around the world. Our mission is to deliver an operational advantage to secure the United States and its allies.

About the Role

The people building Picogrid's technology do some of the most demanding work in the defense industry. The Office & Culture Coordinator exists to make sure the environment they come to every day reflects that — a space that energizes the team, runs without friction, and makes people genuinely glad to show up.

This is a highly visible, people-first role at the heart of daily life at Picogrid's El Segundo headquarters. You'll own the physical experience of the office from the moment someone walks in to the moment they leave — ensuring the space is welcoming, well-run, and stocked with everything the team needs. You'll coordinate the facilities and vendors that keep our building operating smoothly, manage our food and catering program, and drive the culture moments and morale initiatives that make Picogrid more than just a place to work.

This role is for someone who is genuinely energized by taking care of people. You notice what's missing before anyone else does. You go out of your way to make someone's day better. You hold the bar high on the details because you know that the small things add up to a great environment — and a great environment helps a great team do their best work.

What You'll Do
  • Own the front desk and access experience — be the first face people see when they walk through the door; warmly welcome visitors, candidates, vendors, and new hires; manage check-ins and enforce visitor compliance and access control procedures with professionalism and care

  • Run the kitchen and food program — keep the kitchen fully stocked and running smoothly; coordinate catering for team lunches, all-hands meetings, and special occasions; manage vendor relationships, track dietary accommodations, and make sure food is never the reason someone's day is worse

  • Coordinate facilities and vendors — serve as the day-to-day point of contact for all facilities contractors covering electrical, maintenance, cleaning, and utilities; schedule work orders, follow up persistently, and keep the office in excellent condition without the team ever having to think about it

  • Keep shared spaces exceptional — own the daily readiness of conference rooms, common areas, and workspaces; ensure rooms are clean, properly configured, and A/V-ready before every meeting; maintain a standard of quality throughout the office that reflects who Picogrid is

  • Drive company morale and culture — plan and execute team events, celebrations, and culture moments that bring people together and reinforce what makes Picogrid special; bring your own ideas and enthusiasm to making the office an environment people are proud to be part of

  • Manage office supplies and vendor invoicing — own inventory, place orders proactively, track spending, and process vendor invoices in coordination with Finance so operations never stall on logistics

Who You Are
  • You find genuine satisfaction in making things better for the people around you. An empty snack cabinet or an unprepared conference room doesn't just bother you — you fix it before anyone notices.

  • You bring warmth and energy to every interaction. Whether it's a new hire's first day or a visitor's first impression of Picogrid, you make people feel welcome and well taken care of.

  • You're proactive, not reactive. You order supplies before they run out, schedule vendor maintenance before things break, and think two steps ahead so the team never has to.

  • You care about morale. You understand that culture isn't built in big moments alone — it's built in the daily accumulation of a space that works, food that's there, and someone who remembered the details.

  • You're hungry to grow and bring energy to everything you do. You're early in your career and see this role as an opportunity to build something meaningful, not just maintain the status quo.

  • You're kind. Genuinely, consistently kind — to the team, to vendors, to visitors, to everyone.

Required Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in office coordination, hospitality, facilities, administrative support, or a related role

  • Warm, professional interpersonal style — the kind of person people are glad to see when they walk in

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities without dropping the ball

  • Comfortable coordinating with vendors and contractors — able to communicate clearly, follow up persistently, and hold people accountable

  • Proficiency in standard productivity tools (Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack, calendar management)

  • U.S. Person status required for access to ITAR-controlled environments (U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, or qualifying asylee/refugee)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a startup, aerospace, defense, or hardware company environment

  • Experience managing a food or catering program for a team

  • Experience planning and executing internal events or team culture initiatives

  • Familiarity with facilities coordination or vendor management

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $65k–$90k per year. Base salary is just one part of your total compensation package at Picogrid.

  • 401(k) with employer matching

  • Full health coverage (medical, dental, and vision insurance)

  • Relocation assistance provided (if applicable)

  • Unlimited PTO (two-week minimum) and 11 paid holidays per year

  • Paid parental leave for both parents

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
