The Item Master & Product Data Analyst will be responsible for the creation, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of all product-related data within NetSuite across both Aprés and Kindred brands. This role will own the complete Item Master lifecycle, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and scalability of product information throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of NetSuite with exceptional attention to detail, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, E-commerce, Finance, Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement, Regulatory, IT, and Supply Chain teams. This individual will become the primary subject matter expert and steward of our product data infrastructure, ensuring that NetSuite evolves alongside the business and remains a reliable foundation for operational and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Product Data & Item Master Management

  • Own all product records, SKU structures, UPC codes, and item attributes (classifications, dimensions, costs, pricing) in NetSuite
  • Serve as primary Item Master owner for Aprés; manage new item setup through commercialization
  • Define standards for SKU lifecycle (inactivation criteria/cadence) and variant SKU rules (e.g., –NP suffix), replacing current ad hoc processes
  • Enforce data governance standards via routine audits

BOM & Product Lifecycle

  • Create, maintain, and revise BOMs and ECOs; partner with Product Development, R&D, Operations, and Procurement
  • Validate all product records and BOMs before commercialization

Systems, Integration & UoM

  • Build NetSuite expertise; identify process/automation improvements; troubleshoot data issues with IT
  • Support item sync across NetSuite, WMS, and Shopify; monitor data integrity and resolve sync issues
  • Own UoM setup and maintenance (conversions, case packs, pallet quantities), with dedicated support for any high SKU turnover

Dangerous Goods & Compliance

  • Own DG classification for all shippable items/kits (transitioning from IT); partner with Compliance and Logistics to validate against regulations
  • Standardize DG classification at item setup rather than reactively
  • Support Phase 1 of storing formulation/compliance documents in NetSuite, linked to item/BOM records

Cross-Functional & Planning Partnership

  • Serve as central point of contact for product data across Sales, Ecommerce, Finance, Ops, Demand Planning, Procurement, Regulatory, R&D, and IT
  • Partner continuously with Demand Planning: proactive SKU deactivation/creation communication, BOM component updates, and flagging downstream impacts

Additional Ownership

  • Build a centralized Vendor/Product Certificate Registry (Phase 2)
  • Champion NetSuite as the single source of truth; proactively flag data risks and improvement opportunities

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience working within NetSuite ERP
  • Strong understanding of Item Masters, SKU structures, and product hierarchies
  • Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Understanding of inventory management and warehouse systems
  • Familiarity with Shopify integrations and product synchronization workflows
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience supporting product development, manufacturing, consumer goods, beauty, or CPG industries preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English preferred.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
