About Aurelian

Aurelian builds AI tools that help 911 centers handle more with less, so telecommunicators can stay focused on what matters most and communities get the response they need.

AVA is a conversational AI agent that answers non-emergency calls; the agent routes, triages, and resolves the calls without any human intervention. By handling administrative calls like noise complaints, lost dogs, and parking inquiries, AVA eliminates hold times and lets call-takers focus their energy on actual emergencies.

CORA supports call-takers on the calls that matter most. CORA is an on-screen assistant that delivers real-time SOP checklists, smart reminders, and contextual guidance as an emergency call unfolds, so dispatchers stay calm, consistent, and confident when every second counts. When AVA detects an emergency mid-call, it transfers the caller to a telecommunicator and passes along the caller details, location, incident type, and key statements directly into CORA. The call-taker never starts from scratch.

The problem we're solving is serious. The average emergency communications center is 30% understaffed nationwide. Staffing shortages drive burnout and attrition, which makes the shortage worse. Meanwhile, 60-80% of the calls coming in aren't even emergencies at all. Aurelian addresses both sides of that equation: AVA reduces unnecessary call volume, and CORA makes every emergency call more manageable for the people handling it.

Aurelian is live in centers across the country, answering thousands of non-emergency calls every day, and is backed by New Enterprise Associates and Y Combinator. Aurelian is growing rapidly; we are hiring people who want to help scale this work and make a real difference in public safety infrastructure for communities across the country.

Why Join Us

As a Mid-Market Account Executive at Aurelian, you'll be a driving force behind how 9-1-1 centers across the country modernize their operations. You'll fuel our growth in the public safety sector, helping these centers adopt AI solutions that solve workforce shortages and improve emergency response times.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Generate Your Own Pipeline: Prospect into mid-sized PSAPs and ECCs through outbound calls, email, and consistent follow-up — building and owning a steady flow of qualified opportunities.

  • Run the Full Sales Cycle: Build trusted partnerships with emergency communication centers and city/county decision-makers to take deals from first conversation to close. You will be managing prospecting, discovery, demos, and procurement — typically in the $25K–$70K range.

  • Tell the Aurelian Story: Clearly show the impact Aurelian can make by helping PSAPs solve their biggest challenges.

  • Stay Sharp at Volume: Keep HubSpot current and manage your book of active deals without letting opportunities slip.

  • Learn the Public Safety Space: Build real fluency in how 9-1-1 centers operate and buy, leaning on product, implementation, and senior reps to sharpen your pitch every week.

Who We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in SaaS or inside sales, with a track record of hitting pipeline creation and quota targets.

  • Genuine comfort with cold outreach — you're eager to book New Business Meetings to generate pipeline and energized by phone and email, not worn down by it.

  • Strong communicator who builds quick rapport, especially with public servants over the phone.

  • Coachable and curious, eager to learn a complex, mission-driven domain and improve fast.

  • Organized and comfortable living in a CRM (HubSpot a plus).

  • Based in the Seattle area and able to work from our office five days a week.

  • Open to occasional travel for conferences or in-person meetings — though this role is primarily in-office, with no heavy-travel.

  • Public sector, 9-1-1, or public safety experience is a plus — but not required. We'll teach you the space.

What Success Looks Like
  • First two weeks: Get fluent fast — learn the Aurelian story, our products, and how 9-1-1 centers buy, and get comfortable in HubSpot and our sales process.

  • By 30 days: Run a steady activity engine — touching 25+ accounts a week with meaningful outreach (in our market, the phone is your most effective tool) and setting 3+ new business meetings every week.

  • By 90 days: Turn those meetings into real pipeline through value-based discovery and strong demos, with deals consistently advancing through your funnel.

  • By 180 days: Work your pipeline through our Sales Process in HubSpot and begin closing deals

  • Ongoing: Hit quota consistently, and become a dependable contributor to our growth in public safety.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
