The Boeing Global Services' team is seeking a Mid-Level Equipment/Wire Installation Engineer, situated in Long Beach, California, to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operated around the world. This position requires someone that is self-motivated, takes ownership of assigned work, has good communication skills (verbal and written) and is customer-focused with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
The Equipment/Wire Installation Engineer is responsible for the installation and location selection of electrical and electronic equipment and wire harness installation. The role includes support for equipment support structures, cockpit instrument panels, avionics racks, avionics cooling, miscellaneous brackets and machined parts design is desired. Experience with NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter (IPDM) is desirable but not required.

Position Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D modeling using Siemens NX tool for equipment (e.g., support brackets, LRU trays) and wire support installation/routing
- Convert 3D models to 2D drawings and generate associated parts lists
- Coordinate with multi-discipline teams (e.g., Structures, Environmental) to ensure design requirements are met
- Responsible for managing accurate equipment and wire harness installation while maintaining current wiring diagram and wire assembly configurations
- Incorporate wire harness modification kit drawings into wiring installation modification drawings
- Support the sustainment, development and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily electrical equipment and wiring modification drawings (may include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers and C-17 aircraft)
- Work cohesively with Project and Supplier Management, Materials and Processes Engineering
- Perform root cause analysis for field issues, provide corrective actions, and communicate with USAF customer
- Support quarterly review briefings with customers, and yearly symposiums communicating field issues, by presenting a comprehensive review of the issue, root cause and interim/long term solutions for electrical aircraft system issues
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 3+ years of experience in wire harness/equipment installation design
- 3+ years of experience using Siemens NX (Unigraphics)
- 2+ years of experience with Teamcenter/IPDM drawing release tool
- 3+ years of engineering experience associated with the development, selection, and/or revision of parts, materials, and processes specifications used to make electrical wiring and associated electrical systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in military and / or commercial airplane programs
- Experience drawing release toolset (e.g., Team Center/IPDM)
- Experience working with Suppliers
- Experience with technical publications for part installation and maintenance of aircraft
