We are seeking an experienced Metadata Developer to support enterprise-wide Data Governance and Metadata Management initiatives within a Property & Casualty Insurance environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, configuring, and maintaining metadata management solutions, enabling business and technical users to discover, understand, and trust enterprise data assets.
The role will work closely with Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Business stakeholders to implement and enhance metadata management capabilities leveraging Collibra and modern cloud data platforms.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Business Metadata, Technical Metadata, Data Lineage, and Critical Data Element (CDE) frameworks.
- Configure and administer Collibra workflows, assets, domains, and governance processes.
- Design and implement metadata ingestion and integration processes across enterprise data platforms.
- Integrate Collibra with Databricks Unity Catalog and other enterprise data sources.
- Develop automated metadata synchronization and lineage capture processes.
- Support metadata quality, governance, and stewardship initiatives.
- Collaborate with Data Architects and Governance teams to establish metadata standards and best practices.
- Analyze metadata requirements and implement scalable governance solutions.
- Support regulatory, audit, compliance, and risk management initiatives through enhanced data traceability.
- Create technical documentation and governance artifacts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Collibra.
- Strong experience managing:
- Business Metadata
- Technical Metadata
- Data Lineage
- Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
- Experience integrating metadata platforms with Databricks Unity Catalog and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience working in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance environments.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
- Experience supporting insurance regulatory reporting and compliance initiatives.
