Membrane Technical Manager

The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support for our membrane cleaning program at Hydrite’s key accounts and prospects. Activities are directed toward maximizing the financial impact of Hydrite Food Group’s sales/service efforts with our key customers and to bring the full scientific capability of the company to bear on the maintenance and optimization of existing membrane cleaning programs. This includes surveying, troubleshooting, problem solving and field testing of new products and application ideas. In addition, this position includes training Field Services and Field Technology staff on best practices and industry knowledge. The goal is to help facilitate and accomplish the short- and long-term goals that have been identified as critical to Hydrite’s success at key accounts. This individual will support the corporate concept of total customer satisfaction as a way of life and the Food Group’s Mission and Vision Statements.


** Candidate must be located near a major airport for this role**

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Respond to the needs of key customers and Field Services based on priorities defined by the Membrane Program Manager.
  • Visit key accounts with the purpose of establishing relationships with key personnel, reviewing membrane cleaning programs for optimization opportunities and addresses any pertinent needs.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of customer projects that are designated in PAMP programs to insure accurate, timely and cost-effective implementation of each project.
  • Provide continuous improvement in cleaning programs and improved customer quality programs through implementation of corrective action.
  • Provide technical service reports for troubleshooting and cleaning improvements. Collaborate with Field Services on presenting information.
  • Support start-ups, surveys, trials, and service commitments as needed.
  • Design strategy to better meet current and anticipated future customer needs through problem solving.
  • Build strong relationships with membrane technology OEM’s, membrane manufacturers and industry partners.
  • Participate in the development and writing of case studies for training and promotional material.
  • Develop and conducts on site customer training.
  • Create membrane cleaning technical bulletins and conducts training for Field Services and Field Technology

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Senior Technical Director

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Four-year technical degree required. Preferably with a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Science emphasis.
  • Four (4) + years industry experience preferred.
  • Experience identifying new business opportunities.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other job-related software.
  • Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate in English.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to diffuse tense situations in a calm, professional manner.
  • Strong ability to perform personnel evaluation, presentations, coaching/counseling and leadership ability.
  • Ability to gather information and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Be an energetic, self-starter with a preoccupation for customer service and quality.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position requires extensive travel and frequent overnight stays with national travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Driving or riding in an auto or aircraft from 2 to 5 hours at a time.
  • Standing for extended periods of 3 to 4 hours.
  • Frequent 12 to 16 hour workdays may be required as a result of travel and customer commitments.
  • Occasional lifting of 25 to 40 pounds and carry it up to 10 feet.
  • Ability to frequently climb stairs.
  • Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
