Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Mattel Media Team is seeking a Media Manager that will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, measurement, and optimization process for the media of the Vehicles (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Cars), Action Figures (WWE, Jurassic, Masters of the Universe, Minecraft, Pixar), and Mattel Building Sets business units. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about media strategy, investment, and analytics. You will serve as a trusted media expert, analyzing spend to ensure accountability to business objectives. In this role, you’ll partner with brand and cross-functional teams across Mattel while managing our partner media agency.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Lead our partner media agency in all aspects of strategic planning for the Vehicles, Action Figures & Building Sets business units. Oversee media plan creation, assess performance, and drive optimizations to maximize results. Partner with the media agency to deliver media performance improvement.
  • Leverage data (including Market Mix Modeling, retail sales, competitive insights, and consumer insights) to inform media strategies and optimizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and target audience segments
  • Partner with global and regional marketing teams to develop strategies that drive business growth
  • Work with cross-functional teams to build integrated communication plans - ensuring product and content plans align to engage consumers.
  • Understand how media and creative work together to deliver better results
  • Stay up to date with media trends, potential new channels and strategies to continue pushing Mattel as a high-performing toy company

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 8+ years integrated media planning experience required. Toy/Kid, Entertainment or Retail experience a plus.
  • Must be a very strong communicator – verbal and written
  • Team player/mentality
  • Flexible, able to pivot in real-time given fast-paced, changing environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to details and follow through
