BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with Digital Engineering/MBSE experience.  The candidate will have over 10 years of mechanical design, thermal and static analysis, material selection, environmental ruggedization, and payload/platform system safety & integration experience, to work on a program at Point Mugu, Ca. Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 USD to $140,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.


Responsibilities
  • Demonstratable experience in MBSE/Digital Engineering capabilities
  • Create mechanical designs and CAD models for payloads and assemblies
  • Perform thermal and structural FEA analysis
  • Select materials and design for environmental ruggedization
  • Support payload integration on platforms including mounts and harness routing
  • Produce manufacturing documentation with GD&T and tolerances
  • Support vibration, thermal, and environmental testing

Qualifications
  • 10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • 5 years of mechanical design/analysis experience
  • Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo
  • Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL
  • Experience with thermal analysis and environmental qualification
  • Strong knowledge of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processes

Desired Experience

  • Reverse-engineering exposure and solutioning
  • Line Replacement Unit, Assembly, and system level Test
  • System Safety Engineering
  • Participant in a system level engineering effort; System Engineering resource
  • Requirements definition

EDUCATION

Degree: BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or a relevant technical discipline

CLEARANCE – SECRET

Condition of Employment:  Applicant must be able to be found eligible and sustain an active DoD SECRET Clearance. The applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to controlled and classified information.
