On‑site role with up to 40% field service
Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer supports the inspection, repair, and documentation of rotating equipment by combining hands‑on shop and field work with engineering documentation and customer communication. This role works closely with the machine shop, quotation team, and customers to help define accurate repair scopes and ensure quality execution.
This position is intended for engineers with practical mechanical experience who can work independently with general guidance. Training will be provided as part of onboarding.

This role is primarily based on‑site in Pasadena, TX, with occasional field service assignments (up to 40%). The engineer will split time between hands‑on mechanical work, inspections, measurements, and engineering documentation. The role requires close coordination with the repair shop, internal teams, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support rotating equipment inspections and repair evaluations to help define accurate work scopes

  • Act as a mechanical point of contact for customers during inspections and repairs

  • Coordinate with the machine shop and quotation team on mechanical findings and requirements

  • Create and update CAD drawings to document design or repair changes for customer review

  • Perform or verify precision measurements using micrometers and calipers

  • Participate in day‑to‑day shop and field operations, including repair support

  • Assist with field service overhauls as required

  • Document findings clearly and complete assigned tasks on schedule

Preferred (3+ years total across one or more of the following):

  • Rotating equipment repair or overhaul

  • Rotating equipment manufacturing

  • Rotating equipment package design and assembly

  • Field service for mechanical equipment

  • Vibration analysis or diagnostics

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoDesk)

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Rolling element bearings

    • Sleeve/babbitt bearings

    • Mechanical seals and oil seals

    • Shaft alignment

    • Vibration spectrums and interpretation

  • Comfortable using micrometers and calipers

  • Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred

    • If not already experienced, this skill will be taught on the job

Required Attributes

  • Self‑motivated and willing to learn through on‑the‑job training

  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on, industrial environment

  • Able to take ownership of assigned work and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
