The BGS Commercial Modifications Structures Team provides the structural design and stress support required for post-production modifications across multiple product lines (Interiors, Connectivity, Avionics, and Airframe Performance & Systems) and spanning all Boeing commercial models.
Our Structures team is seeking a leader with broad knowledge of Boeing design, stress analysis, certification, and engineering principles. Our customers include commercial airlines, military organizations, the Boeing Converted Freighter program, and various 3rd Party Technical Consulting Agreement (TCA) partners. In this position, the manager will be collaborating with their functional peers to execute our strategy of growth, on-time delivery, and technical excellence. They will work closely with BGS programs managers to ensure programs are on track and meet our customer commitments.

- Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
- Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
- Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
- Fosters positive relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.
- Coordinates adeptly with other internal and external Engineering teams.
- Masters knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities of the occupation.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences) .
- Experience supporting both internal and external customers
- Experience training and/or mentoring in a technical environment
- 1+ years of experience leading an engineering team
- 1+ years of experience with Retrofit, Repairs, Modifications & Maintenance
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience with Retrofit, Repairs, Modifications & Maintenance
- Experience with Project Planning, Scheduling, Project Management or related experience
- Experience leading / collaborating across geographically dispersed teams
- Experience working with Airworthiness regulators
- Experience working with Supplemental Type Certificates
