About the role

We are looking for someone to execute and grow field marketing activities for Flexport’s LA office. Industry conferences, trade shows, and owned events help Flexport establish long-lasting relationships with prospects and clients through face-to-face interactions, and contribute to growing our sales pipeline and share of wallet.
As the person responsible for all field marketing activities for the US Southwest region, you may be right for this role if you are energized by solving problems and measuring success, are comfortable being the face of the company, and are obsessed with creating a great experience for people around you.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute field marketing initiatives to increase our sales pipeline via acquisition of marketing qualified leads.
  • Organize regional prospect and client events within major target markets, aiming to build new business relationships and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Plan and execute industry events end-to-end, including trade shows where we exhibit or canvass. Communicate with sales leaders to set meetings with target accounts ahead of the event, execute all logistical tasks related event success, and own all post-event follow-up and ROI measurement.
  • Be the on-site contact responsible for event execution, including setup and breakdown, managing attendees, strategic initiatives for internal attendees, communication with vendors and partners, and troubleshooting.
  • Track and manage regional field marketing budget and spend, including venue rental, AV, F&B, signage, furniture, etc.
  • Travel up to 20% of your working time.
  • Develop and deepen your own working knowledge of Salesforce, spending 15% of your time on the following:
    • Creating and administering strategic territories prior to canvassing trade shows for conference attendees, uploading unique event data into the system, and generating territory reports as needed.
    • Uploading leads met at conferences & trade shows with unique identifying data and assigning to the correct lead owner.
    • Creating sales-facing reports that facilitate easy post-event follow up.
    • Creating internal marketing reports to track opportunity creation and overall performance.
    • Calculating all-in cost (spend) vs. revenue created (closed/won opportunities in SFDC) at a per-event basis.

What you’ll bring

  • Clear, concise and professional communication with stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Painstaking attention to detail and organization.
  • Prioritization, and ability to manage competing demands and expectations for multiple company stakeholders.
  • Intuitive sense of urgency when handling time-sensitive field marketing leads.
  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, and measurement of field marketing activities.
  • Intermediate understanding and desire to work in excel and SFDC to adequately serve sales teams with strategic and actionable information.
  • Effective contract negotiation and vendor management.
