We’re looking for a Communications Associate to join Team Snapchat! You will play a key role in packaging and landing product-focused stories in consumer and technology outlets. Working with the Communications team, you’ll help keep the trains moving smoothly day-to-day. While proactively identifying and preparing these product-focused stories, as well as when responding reactively to media inquiries, you’ll also work closely with many teams across the organization such as Design, Engineering, and Content.
What you’ll do:
- Identify and pitch product-related news and feature updates to consumer and tech media, supporting both existing features as well as new product updates
- Work across teams to organize communication materials such as creative assets, media FAQs, sales FAQs, and internal company announcements as they relate to product updates
- Create and manage product messaging materials and fact sheets for internal and external use
- Maintain product timelines, media lists, and briefing materials with the team
- Compile coverage reports following major news events for distribution to the Communications team and executives
- Regularly brief the team on competitive news and industry trends to inform strategic decisions, as well as identify important media moments
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years of experience in communications or public relations
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field of study
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working with tech and consumer media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to research, contextualize, and prioritize information, while working individually as well as between teams
- High enthusiasm, creativity, and resourcefulness, as well as a high level of professional integrity and confidentiality
