JOB SUMMARY

B-Stock is hiring a Marketing Operations Manager to serve as the operational and intelligence layer across the entire marketing team. This is an IC role reporting directly to the VP of Strategy, with visibility into every marketing function — content, demand generation, buyer marketing, and seller marketing.

Keep the marketing machine running with rigor: editorial calendars, cross-functional workflows, Braze platform administration, SEO/AEO/GEO infrastructure, CMS governance, content performance reporting, and asset management. This includes identifying and implementing AI automation within the platforms you own — Braze and AirOps — to reduce manual lift over time.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Braze Platform Administration & Health

  • Serve as primary platform owner for Braze — system health, configuration, and resolving platform issues (integration failures, data pipeline breaks, sync errors) as needed
  • Monitor and continuously optimize platform performance: deliverability, bounce/unsubscribe trends, event tracking accuracy, data sync
  • Own user management, permission structures, and workspace governance; ensure the platform is configured to support the campaigns the buyer team is building without technical blockers
  • Maintain and improve data hygiene: segmentation infrastructure, contact properties, event schemas, suppression mechanics

SEO / AEO / GEO Performance Infrastructure

  • Own configuration and administration of AirOps to apply SEO/AEO/GEO standards across published content
  • Own the operational infrastructure — keyword frameworks, content briefs, optimization checklists, publishing governance — that ensures content meets SEO, AEO, and GEO standards before going live
  • Ensure all published content meets SEO, AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) standards before going live, including structured data, topical hierarchy, and authoritativeness signals
  • Track organic traffic and content compliance metrics; surface gaps and recommendations, and refine the underlying playbooks
  • Content itself is created by the content team; this role owns optimization, tagging, and discovery structure

Website Performance & CMS Ownership

  • Own Payload CMS backend administration — configuration, data integrity, page governance, freshness reviews, and the content asset library (tagging, organizing, archiving) — across bstock.com; day-to-day publishing sits with the content team
  • Monitor Core Web Vitals, crawl errors, broken links, and mobile usability; maintain a freshness standard (evergreen pages quarterly, high-traffic monthly) and deliver a regular health summary to marketing leadership
  • Own the publication SLA — time from content approved to content live — and hold the process accountable when pages sit in queue
  • Build and maintain the methodology for tracking B-Stock's share of voice in AI-generated search responses

Marketing Operations & Cross-Functional Workflow

  • Design, document, and enforce workflows across the marketing team — intake, approval, publishing, and reporting processes that scale without constant intervention
  • Run the master editorial calendar and ensure all functions are coordinated on timing, dependencies, and priorities
  • Serve as the connective tissue between marketing sub-functions and with sales, product, and customer success on shared programs
  • Flag redundancies and recommend consolidation across the marketing tech stack

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing operations, content operations, or a closely related function at a SaaS or marketplace company
  • Hands-on platform administration of a marketing automation or customer engagement platform — configuration, data integrity, integrations (Braze strongly preferred; Iterable, Klaviyo, or similar)
  • Hands-on CMS ownership — publishing, auditing, governance — including headless/developer-forward platforms
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, with familiarity in how AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) are reshaping content discovery
  • Practical experience applying AI tools within marketing workflows
  • High ownership orientation — designs processes that scale without babysitting, spots gaps before they become problems, and translates operational complexity into plain-language recommendations for senior leadership
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Direct experience with Braze and/or Payload CMS specifically
  • Experience with AirOps, Surfer SEO, Jasper, Writer, or similar AI-powered content platforms
  • Background in B2B marketplace, SaaS, or e-commerce environments
  • Experience evaluating and replacing agency relationships with in-house or AI-powered alternatives

The pay rate for this role will range between $100,000 to $140,000, per annum. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as the applicant’s work experience, education and training, skills, market data, and internal equity.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

  • Competitive compensation packages, including bonus and options
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits
  • Paid Time Off, telecommuting, and matching 401(K)
  • Support for continuing education
  • Team offsites, social events, and extracurricular activities are a staple
  • Snacks, drinks, and the occasional box of donuts

THE COMPANY

B-Stock is the world's largest B2B re-commerce platform, connecting sellers and buyers of returned, trade-in, and overstock inventory. Our customers range from today’s top brands and retailers that want best-in-class inventory resale management to tens of thousands of entrepreneurs looking to purchase valuable merchandise for their resale businesses.

While the amount of returned and overstock inventory continues to grow, there is also growing pressure on retailers and consumers to adopt a more circular economy and keep products in use as long as possible. Accordingly, the need for re-commerce solutions - to find products a second life - has never been greater! At B-Stock we’re proud to play a large part in powering resale, reuse, and the circular economy through our platform: annually we sell over 130 million items across all categories and conditions, equating to 400 million pounds of inventory.

We believe there is tremendous value in and demand for this inventory - no matter the category, condition, or location. With hundreds of thousands transactions completed annually, B-Stock gives buyers a simple and direct way to buy valuable products directly from retailers and offers sellers a technology-driven replacement for traditional resale methods, while boosting operational efficiency, recovery rates, and cycle time.

Led by eBay veterans and backed by top investors including Spectrum Equity, True Ventures, and Susquehanna Growth Equity, B-Stock shows no signs of slowing down. Our core values have shaped the company we are today and will continue to drive our success for many years to come.

OUR VALUES
Make Each Dollar Count
Whether it’s the recovery amount or a buyer’s budget, money matters to all of our clients. And because each dollar matters to them, it matters to us.

Take Our Work Seriously, Not Ourselves
Everything at B-Stock continues to grow - everything but our egos, that is. We’re not afraid to let loose and laugh (often at ourselves).

Do The Hard Things Today That Will Pay Off Tomorrow
We’re willing to sacrifice and endure, fail and adapt to reach our long-term goals.

Use Trust As The Best Measure Of Success
The trust we earn along the way is more valuable than money. Without trust from both our buyers and sellers, our business won’t succeed.

Find Strength In Numbers
Use our passion for data to provide value to our customers, improve ourselves, and develop new ways to delight our buyers and sellers.

No applicant will face discrimination/harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status. Above and beyond discrimination/harassment based on “protected categories,” B-Stock also strives to prevent other, subtler forms of inappropriate behavior (e.g., stereotyping) from ever gaining a foothold in our office. Whether blatant or hidden, barriers to success have no place at B-Stock.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
