Company Description

blackcrows is an independent ski brand born in Chamonix, and embraced by mountain communities around the world. We design skis, outerwear and accessories with a relentless focus on performance, identity and style—objects shaped by a desire to merge beauty and efficiency.

Rooted in ski culture and driven by a spirit of freedom and adventure, blackcrows celebrates the mountains as a creative space. With offices in Chamonix, Paris and Los Angeles, a global distribution and own physical retail stores in key locations, the brand continues to expand its vision of contemporary skiing.

Role Overview

blackcrows is growing in North America, and we're looking for the right person to help drive that growth.

You'll be the primary marketing voice for blackcrows across the US and Canada: in the field with our retail partners, on the ground at events, and working closely with our sales and global brand teams to make sure blackcrows shows up in North America the way it deserves to.

There's real work to be done and real ground to cover. We're not looking for someone to manage a playbook that already exists. We're looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity.

Key Responsibilies

Account & Trade Marketing

Build and execute account-level marketing programs that help our retail partners tell the blackcrows story with conviction — from in-store activations and product training to co-op campaigns and seasonal support.

Events & Experiential

Own blackcrows' presence at key North American ski events, film premieres, demo days, and brand moments. You know the calendar, you know the scene, and you know how to make a brand show up in a way that lands.

PR & Media Relations

Develop and manage relationships with ski and outdoor media across North America. Pitch stories, coordinate product placements, and work with our athletes and ambassadors to generate coverage that builds brand credibility.

Brand Building

Work closely with the global marketing team in Chamonix and LA to ensure that North American activations are rooted in the blackcrows brand — its aesthetic, its culture, its point of view. Consistency matters. So does authenticity.

Market Intelligence

Be our eyes and ears on the ground. Bring back what you're seeing — from retailers, consumers, events, and competitors — and help shape how the brand evolves in this

This list is not exhaustive and may be added to and/or revised during your assignment, depending on our discussions and your interests.

Profile & qualifications

– 5+ years of experience in marketing, brand, or field marketing roles within the ski or broader outdoor industry

– Existing relationships with key North American ski media, retailers, and industry stakeholders

– Proven track record executing events, trade marketing programs, or PR campaigns — ideally in a lean, entrepreneurial environment

– Strong written and verbal communicator; someone who can write a pitch, brief an agency, and give a brand presentation with equal confidence

– Comfortable with significant travel, especially November through April — this job lives in the mountains during ski season

– Based in the US; mountain location strongly preferred (CO, UT, VT, WA, CA Sierra, etc.)

Who you are
You've spent meaningful time in the ski industry and have the relationships to show for it. You know the key retailers, the media, the events that matter. People in this world know you — and trust you.

You're energized by building. You don't need a large team or a fully resourced infrastructure to do good work — you figure it out, you move fast, and you take pride in what you create.

You're on the mountain because you love it, not just because it's your job. That passion comes through in how you represent the brand.

You're as comfortable in a buyer meeting as you are on a chairlift or at a trade show dinner. You can read a room, adapt your approach, and always represent blackcrows with credibility and warmth.

You're organized and autonomous. You'll be working closely with our Head of Sales for North America and the global marketing team, but you own your world — that's the point.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
