Are you a creative marketer who contemplates what it means to make an authentic connection? Then you might know how powerful it is when brands are able to speak the same language as their audiences. At Scoot, you'll apply your digital marketing skills to boost B2M brand awareness and position Scoot as a trusted education staffing partner and employer.

You'll be our eyes and ears in the digital landscape, uncovering insights about our audience to unpack with the Marketing Team Lead while executing campaigns that showcase what makes Scoot different across multiple states. You'll work independently to grow our organic presence, conduct competitive intelligence, and support strategic paid acquisition initiatives that directly impact our business growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Social media management: Build and publish organic social media across platforms to grow brand awareness and community engagement
  • Market research & intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, analyze audience behavior patterns, and engage forums (i.e. Reddit) to understand industry sentiment, substitute teacher pain points, and identify engagement opportunities
  • Paid social campaign execution: Create ad variations, graphics, and copy for Facebook/Instagram campaigns based on strategic direction and audience research
  • Design support: Develop/update powerpoints, 1-pagers, and other visual assets
  • Event support: Coordinate marketing materials, booth design, and follow-up processes for education job fairs and conferences
  • Analytics and reporting: Track performance metrics on Sprout Social and Google Analytics, organize research findings, and provide insights to optimize campaigns and content strategy

Perks & Compensation:

  • $28.85 - $32.21 hourly rate, non-exempt (This is a full-time hourly position. Annual salary is shown to demonstrate an avg. full work year)
  • Medical, vision, dental insurance
  • 401k with company contribution
  • Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days WFH
  • Be part of an organization committed to education and supporting each other
  • FTO (Flexible Time Off)

What We're Looking For:

  • 3-4 years of social media marketing experience with demonstrated independent project management
  • Design portfolio showing proficiency with design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media advertising platforms - applications without one will not be considered
  • Strong research and analytical skills with curiosity for understanding audience behavior and competitor activity
  • Comfort exploring online communities, forums, and social platforms to gather market insights
  • Exceptional written communication
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to organize findings and propose strategic directions

You'll Stand Out If You:

  • Have experience conducting competitive research or market analysis through social media communities
  • Understand the education sector or have worked with mission-driven organizations
  • Know how to thought-partner, not just generate content, with Ai while exercising a high level of discernment
  • Are comfortable in front of the camera for short videos and hosting online events
  • Have managed both organic social growth and paid social campaign execution

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
