About Magenta

Magenta is transforming how manufacturing operates.

Manufacturing teams lose enormous amounts of time to documentation, reviews, compliance steps, supplier packages, work instructions, quality records, and process handoffs. Magenta helps those teams move faster by automating the document heavy work that slows production down.

Our platform is built for regulated manufacturing environments where accuracy, traceability, security, and compliance matter. We work with teams that build real things, operate under real constraints, and cannot afford vague software or sloppy workflows.

We are a small, focused team based in El Segundo, and we are building a company with a clear point of view: engineers, quality teams, and operators should spend more time building and less time buried in paperwork.

The Role

We are looking for a Marketing Associate to help build Magenta’s brand, content, events, and go to market motion. This is an early career role for someone who is both creative and organized.

You should be a strong writer, a clear thinker, and the kind of person who can take a messy idea, meeting note, product update, event plan, or founder thought and turn it into something useful.

You will work across content, social, events, website updates, sales materials, campaigns, and marketing operations. Some days you may be helping write a LinkedIn post or event recap. Other days you may be organizing trade show logistics, updating HubSpot, preparing a sales one pager, cleaning up website copy, or pulling together campaign performance notes.

This is not a role for someone who wants to simply use AI tools to generate marketing content. We expect you to use AI thoughtfully, but your writing, taste, judgment, and understanding of the customer need to come first. AI can help you research, organize, analyze, edit, repurpose, and move faster. It should not replace your ability to think or write.

What You’ll Do
  • Write and edit marketing content across Magenta's distribution channels.

  • Turn technical and operational topics into clear, credible content for manufacturing audiences.

  • Plan posts, draft copy, organize creative assets, track engagement, and identify opportunities.

  • Help plan and execute events, trade shows, appearances, webinars, and customer facing moments.

  • Manage event timelines, invites, collateral, attendee lists, leads, follow up, and recap content.

  • Keep marketing organized across calendars, campaign trackers, asset folders, and internal tools.

  • Work with sales and leadership to create materials that support demos, follow ups, and outreach.

  • Help maintain consistency across Magenta’s voice (web, socials, sales, and events).

  • Track analytics and performance, summarize results, and present follow-up options.

  • Use AI tools where appropriate for research, analysis, repurposing, organization, and editing.

What We’re Looking For
  • One to three years of experience in marketing, content, events, or communications.

  • Strong writing skills and a clear, natural voice.

  • Good taste and judgment around what sounds real, useful, and credible.

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.

  • A creative eye for copy, layout, visuals, and brand consistency.

  • Curiosity about manufacturing, AI, industrial technology, and operations.

  • Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn, Google Workspace, Canva, or Figma.

  • Comfort using AI tools without relying on them to do the thinking.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership.

  • Ability to work full time from our El Segundo office.

You May Be a Great Fit If...
  • You are the person people ask to clean up messy writing.

  • You like making complicated ideas easier to understand.

  • You are creative, but you also like checklists, calendars, folders, and clean handoffs.

  • You can write in a way that sounds human, specific, and credible.

  • You are interested in AI, but you do not think AI should replace taste or thinking.

  • You want to learn how marketing, sales, product, events, and partnerships come together inside an early stage company.

  • You are excited by manufacturing, aerospace, industrial technology, automation, operations, or the future of how physical products get built.

Why Join Magenta

You will join a small team building in one of the most important categories in AI: Manufacturing.

The opportunity to help shape the voice, content engine, event presence, and marketing rhythm of a company at an early stage. You will work close to the founders and go to market team, see how the company is built from the inside, and get broad experience across marketing.

You will not be stuck in one narrow lane. You will write, organize, launch, support, test, improve, and help create the foundation for how Magenta shows up in the market.

We offer competitive compensation, equity, and the opportunity to grow with the company.

How to Apply:
Send us your resume and a short note about why this role interests you.

Please also include one or two writing samples. These can be posts, articles, newsletters, website copy, event recaps, campaign materials, school projects, personal projects, or anything else that shows how you think and write.

We care more about clarity, judgment, and taste than perfect polish.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
