About the Role

Dandy is hiring an experienced Manufacturing Trainer to join our rapidly growing, hyper-growth startup as we launch our brand-new manufacturing site in Provo, UT. This role will also support training efforts at our established manufacturing site in Lehi, UT. The Training team owns the onboarding and upleveling of technicians across our production lines. In this role, you will be pivotal in facilitating and conducting on-the-job training for new and existing manufacturing techs, ensuring they are equipped to meet the demands of a fast-paced production environment. Due to the needs of both sites, the ability to work flexible and potentially varying shifts (days, nights, or weekends) will be required from time to time.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic trainer to conduct and evaluate technical training programs. This role requires a blend of classroom-style instruction and hands-on training directly on the production floor. You will be responsible for delivering training curricula and ensuring all employees understand their graduation and ramped production goals. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous situations and is prepared to "roll up their sleeves" to meet the challenges of a new site launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver high-quality training sessions through both formal classroom settings and active, on-the-floor instruction.

  • Program Support: Assist in updating and maintaining training materials and curricula for manufacturing production lines.

  • Quality Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to manufacturing standards during all training sessions.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) and training leadership to ensure adherence to training best practices.

  • Performance Tracking: Help track and analyze training metrics to measure effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Operational Excellence: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills regarding evolving manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Communication Skills: Ensure clear, timely, and concise communication to trainees and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Commitment & Availability: Ability to be in-office 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) at our new [suspicious link removed] site, with the flexibility to work different shifts as needed to support both the Provo and Lehi manufacturing sites.

  • Adaptability: Ability to move quickly, pivot frequently, and work through the ambiguity of a new site launch.

  • Technical Proficiency: Computer proficient with a high level of comfort using digital tools, specifically Google Workspace products and Slack.

  • Experience: 3+ years of technical experience in manufacturing or a related field, with a proven track record of supporting quality improvements.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail Oriented: Very high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Self-Starter: Strong self-motivation and the ability to drive one's own learning to meet the needs of the business.

  • Mentorship: Proven ability to mentor trainees and drive high-quality training outcomes in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Bonus Points For

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth startup environment.

  • Experience delivering training programs within a manufacturing or laboratory setting.

  • Natural curiosity and a history of learning new tools and workflows quickly.

  • Experience with CNC or additive manufacturing.

  • Experience with Google Workspace
