We are seeking a Software Integration and Test (SIT) Manager Deputy (Systems Engineering Manager 2) to join our talented team. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large, restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks. The SW Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several mission operational SW product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted Customer.

The SW Integration and Test (SIT) IPT team is focused on the integration of subsystems and testing of critical mission capabilities. We are looking for an energetic and passionate software system engineering leader to join our team as we work to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in support of our Customer’s national security mission in the areas of Ground Enterprise Modernization. As the SIT Deputy Manager, you will support the SIT Manager with managing the day-to-day operations of the SIT team, including collaboration across IPTs, and supporting the SIT technical leadership team.   

Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Manage Software Discrepancy Reports (SWDR) – tracking, prioritization, and managing to completion with the SIT team and SW Development team
  • Manage cost/schedule inputs
  • Conduct weekly meetings and provide regular status
  • Support onboarding of new team members
  • Provide training and technical resource availability
  • Support customer technical support

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance at time of application
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, staffing, reporting, coordination, identifying/mitigating risk, and supporting all phases of a development program 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present technical material to senior management and customers 
  • Comfortable with generating and presenting technical information in Ground-Space systems domain
  • Demonstrated systems engineering knowledge and top-level mission flow down from subsystem to element with requirements and verification experience
  • Prior mission experience on Ground-Space systems architecture and interfaces
  • Previous project management experience for technical and schedule milestones 
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal communications, organizational and professional development/mentoring skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Must be able to work independently, function in a fast-paced team environment, and be flexible to changing direction 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of previous management experience as a Deputy APM, SPM, or Technical Lead
  • 5+ years of experience performing as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) managing cost, schedule, and technical
  • Previous program management or related mission management experience with NG PGSD processes on large satellite programs
  • Technical background in ground system design, software development, software integration & test, and requirements development and verification
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop effective processes
  • Experience with program reviews and business development activities. 
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
