We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager, Machine Learning Infrastructure  to join Snap!

What you’ll do:

• Manage and mentor a team of machine learning infrastructure engineers to build scalable, reliable and efficient machine learning training platform to support model training at Snap

• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver

• Establish good collaboration with Machine Learning Data, Machine Learning Inference, Ads Ranking, Content Recommendation and User Growth teams to enable more machine learning training and launches.

• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor

• Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Background with building high availability and mission critical systems

• Experience with leading an engineering team

• Ability leading and executing large, complex technical initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience

• 8+ years of experience working in software engineering

• 2+ years of experience managing a team

• Experience with distributed systems and backend development

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters/PhD in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent industry experience

• Experience working on online ranking/recommendations systems

• Experience building large scale production machine learning systems or data pipelines

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffe2, PyTorch, Spark ML, scikit-learn, or related frameworks

• Experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Infrastructure and large-scale system design

  • Experience with key infra technologies like NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, kafka, Kubernetes, Google/AWS services

  • Experience building large scale production data pipelines

  • Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments

  • Experience with building and maintaining mission-critical and highly-available global systems

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
