Company Introduction

WorldStrides is the global leader in educational travel and experiential learning. The company was founded in 1967 to provide middle school travel programs to Washington, D.C. and has grown to provide a wide range of programs for more than half a million students annually to over 100 countries around the world. WorldStrides offers experiential learning programs in educational travel, performing arts, language immersion, career exploration, service-learning, study abroad, and sports. Each of these experiences helps students to see beyond the classroom and to see the world – and themselves – in new ways.

The Role

WorldStrides takes students on experiences that change their lives — and almost none of that story is being told on social media. That changes now. As Manager of Social & Influencer Marketing, you will build the organic social presence and influencer program that makes WorldStrides a brand educators, students, and parents actively seek out. You will own the organic social content calendar, build the influencer marketing program from scratch, and develop the authentic student and educator voices that tell the WorldStrides story at scale. This role is creative, entrepreneurial, and high-visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Organic Social Strategy & Content

  • Own the organic social strategy and content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Develop a distinct, platform-native content voice for WorldStrides — adapting tone, format, and cadence for educators, students, and parents on each platform
  • Produce and coordinate social content including short-form video, student takeovers, real-time trip content, and educator spotlights
  • Build a social SEO strategy — optimizing content for discovery on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Search
  • Monitor community engagement, respond to the brand's online community, and build an active and authentic presence

Influencer Marketing Program

  • Build the WorldStrides influencer program from the ground up — strategy, creator identification, contracting, briefing, and performance measurement
  • Identify and activate teacher creators, student travel influencers, and performing arts communities across TikTok and Instagram
  • Develop micro-influencer and student ambassador programs that generate authentic content at scale and cost-efficiently
  • Negotiate partnerships, manage contracts, and ensure all influencer content meets brand safety and FTC compliance standards
  • Build a creator content repurposing strategy — turning influencer content into paid media assets, email content, and website social proof

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and report on organic social and influencer KPIs: follower growth, engagement rate, reach, share of voice, and top-of-funnel MQL contribution
  • Run A/B tests on content formats and posting cadence to optimize performance systematically
  • Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes, emerging formats (Reels, Shorts, TikTok LIVE), and creator economy trends

What Success Looks Like

  • Measurable follower growth and engagement improvement across all platforms within 6 months
  • Influencer program live with 20+ active creators by end of Year 1
  • Influencer-generated content contributing to paid media asset library, reducing creative production costs
  • Brand sentiment and share of voice improving in the educational travel conversation online

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of social media marketing and/or influencer marketing experience
  • Content creator instincts — you write compelling captions, can brief photographers, and edit short-form video
  • Deep platform fluency: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Proven experience building or managing an influencer marketing program with measurable outcomes
  • Strong analytics skills — you measure performance and optimize based on data, not instinct alone

Nice to Have

  • Experience with youth brands, education, travel, or mission-driven consumer organizations
  • Existing relationships with the teacher creator or student travel influencer community
  • Experience with influencer platforms such as AspireIQ, CreatorIQ, or Later
  • Video production or editing skills (Premiere, CapCut, or similar)
  • UGC strategy experience — building programs that generate student-created content at scale

Why WorldStrides

  • Help build a world-class marketing organization from the ground up — your work shapes the whole function
  • Travel perks: experience the programs you market firsthand alongside student groups
  • Mission-driven work — every campaign you run puts a student on a life-changing journey
  • Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and a marketing team that takes its craft seriously

Work Perks

  • Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, accident, critical illness, disability insurance, FSA/HSA options with employer HSA contributions, and a generous 401(k) match.
  • Generous paid time off including 11 paid company holidays, 25 PTO days the first year (prorated), 1 paid volunteer day, 4 mental health days, and bereavement
  • Professional development support, including up to $5,250 annually for tuition reimbursement and up to $1,000 for certifications annually
  • Opportunities for paid and discounted travel
  • Flexible work schedule providing on-site, remote, and hybrid office opportunities
  • Encouraged participation in a wide variety of Employee Resource Groups
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellness resources, including fitness centers at select locations
  • Paid parental, caregiver, and disability leave
  • Team Member Discount Program
  • Engaging, collaborative, and fun work environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
