Who we are:
Field Nation brings companies and service professionals together through an integrated, easy-to-use platform. We support businesses looking to grow their service offerings while also empowering technicians to leverage their skills on their own terms. Our mission is to help the service delivery industry do great work, and we live that mission by doing great work for the companies and service professionals that depend on us.

Why is this role important to Field Nation?
The Manager, Sales Development is a critical part of the demand generation function, responsible for qualifying right-fit accounts, driving pipeline growth, and generating revenue by leading a high-performing Sales Development team. As a core member of the Revenue Marketing team, this role ensures the seamless execution of demand-generation strategies by aligning marketing efforts with sales outcomes.

This role requires a leader with a proven track record of managing teams to deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in optimizing Sales Development workflows, tracking key performance metrics, and driving team performance to achieve ambitious pipeline and revenue goals. A data-driven mindset is essential, with a focus on key metrics—including touchpoints, conversion rates, opportunity creation, and pipeline growth—to refine strategies and drive team effectiveness.

What you'll get to do:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Sales Development Reps skilled in lead qualification, opportunity creation, and account support.
  • Performance Management: Establish clear performance goals, foster a culture of accountability and growth, and provide regular coaching to enhance outreach techniques and objection handling.
  • Data-Driven Improvement: Monitor and analyze key metrics like meeting-to-opportunity conversion rates and outreach touchpoints to refine processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Demand Generation Alignment: Collaborate with the marketing team to align Sales Development activities with campaigns, ICPs, and pipeline goals, ensuring consistent messaging and effective engagement strategies.
  • Playbook Development: Create and maintain playbooks, scripts, and outreach templates to standardize and optimize team execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Revenue Marketing and Marketing Operations to prioritize target accounts, refine ICPs, implement workflows, and streamline lead management.
  • Engagement Strategy: Develop and manage approaches to drive engagement and usage for new accounts, ensuring alignment with broader marketing efforts and pipeline objectives.

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years in business development, sales, or demand generation roles, including 2-3 years in leadership or team management. Proven track record of exceeding pipeline and revenue targets; experience in B2B SaaS or technology industries and consumption-model environments is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams with a customer-first mindset, ensuring prospects remain at the core of strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting performance metrics (e.g., outreach effectiveness, touchpoints, pipeline health) to optimize strategies and drive results.
  • In-depth understanding of pipeline development, marketing-to-sales alignment, and demand generation best practices. Familiarity with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) and target account strategies is a plus.
  • Skilled in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales enablement tools (e.g., Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo).
  • Proven success in fostering alignment between marketing and sales teams to achieve pipeline and revenue goals.

Why we think you'll love it here

  • Annual vacation bonus - yes, we’ll pay you a bonus to take paid time off!
  • Individualized growth + development plans
  • Strong values around work/life balance
  • Community involvement opportunities

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
