Job Description

Ares is seeking a AVP of IT Infrastructure and Operations with hands-on experience as a Technical Infrastructure Engineering Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our datacenters as well as planning, coordination, and execution of the company’s remote office builds and expansions from mergers and acquisitions. The organization has grown domestically as well as internationally.  We are looking for a well-seasoned individual who is highly motivated, detail driven planning, has excellent communication to manage both internal and external stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background across multiple IT infrastructure technologies including networking, virtualization, storage, and enterprise software, as well as project management expertise to lead strategic business initiatives.

Primary Functions And Essential Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Operations:

  • Manage team of Infrastructure Engineers for day-to-day operations.

  • Lifecycle management of infrastructure across both datacenters and remote offices.

  • Capacity planning of infrastructure to align with the business growth and expansion requirements.

  • Lead special projects and strategic business initiatives from mergers and acquisitions.

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of the datacenter and remote office builds and expansion.

  • Identify and document dependencies for future infrastructure improvements and develop roadmaps.

  • Manage internal and external audits of datacenters and remote offices to ensure adherence to SLA of compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Travel to various remote offices and datacenter is required.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between IT infrastructure, business units, compliance teams, and leadership.

  • Partner with networking, storage, and enterprise IT teams to ensure that the underlying infrastructure adherence to SLAs and business requirements.

Project Management & Documentation:

  • Manage documentation repository for operations, including dashboard reporting of key performance indicators for the infrastructure.

  • Utilize JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian, and ServiceNow to track project milestones and maintain documentation.

Qualifications:
  • Strong foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, storage, and enterprise software.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multiple business units.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.

  • 10+ years of experience as IT Infrastructure Operations Manager.

  • 10+ years of experience of managing people.

  • 10+ years of experience in planning, coordinating, executing technical projects.

  • Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Atlassian, ServiceNow).

Technology Experience:

  • Datacenter Management (Space, Power, HVAC)

  • Compute and Network Platforms (HPE, VSAN, Cisco, Broadcom, Palo Alto)

  • Virtualization (VMWARE)

  • Storage and Backup (NetApp, VSAN, Cohesity, Veeam, Zerto)

  • Operating Systems (Windows/Linux)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent technical proficiency and professional work experience.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Technology Certifications.

  • ITIL Foundation Certification is a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$180,000 - $220,000
