About the role and team

Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. You’ll need to take ownership, stay adaptable, and build with both urgency and care. If you’re energized by challenge and motivated by real-world impact — this is where you’ll grow.

Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. You’ll build high-performing teams in ambiguous environments, make hard calls under pressure, and carry the weight of decisions that matter. In this role, you will be the regional business owner for our largest restaurant segment, navigating the messy reality of scaling growth while building a high-integrity team culture.

What you’ll do

  • Build and inspire a high-performing team of Account Managers, coaching them through tough negotiations and providing real-time feedback to maintain a high talent bar.
  • Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities to own the growth strategy for SMB restaurant partners, making data-driven decisions on investment and revenue expansion.
  • Manage complex stakeholder dynamics, acting as a trusted advisor to restaurant partners while aligning internal teams across Sales, Ops, and Product to unblock growth.
  • Drive merchant revenue and value by aggressively advocating for product adoption and marketing initiatives, even when faced with client objections or pricing pushback.
  • Design and audit scalable account management processes, identifying what’s slowing the team down and implementing repeatable playbooks to improve retention.
  • Own the commercial performance of your region, taking full accountability for business metrics and the long-term sustainability of partner relationships.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within Account Management or Sales organizations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing target-driven commercial teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive business decisions.
  • Fluency in the required local language and English.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in people management.
  • Experience in tech, food delivery, or marketplace businesses.
  • Expertise in building and auditing Account Management processes in a rapid-growth environment.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to lead through high levels of ambiguity and organizational change.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
