At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Team:

The Growth Marketing team drives sustainable business growth through data-led experimentation, measurement, and technology across the digital marketing funnel. Growth Marketing connects Netflix’s strong cultural impact to tangible business outcomes through a mixture of marketing tactics (paid media, SEO, off-service messaging) and automation (ML, GenAI).

The Role:

We are seeking a Growth Strategy Manager to help architect the future of growth marketing and test into new areas and hypotheses to drive incremental business impact. This Manager will be responsible for delivering needle-moving campaign insights, connecting the dots across business, content, audience, and marketing data to uncover campaign opportunities and influence creative direction. This role will partner with a diverse set of stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Data Science, Consumer Insights, and Finance. They will also be external facing, working closely with the advertising and insights platforms with whom we are experimenting. The ideal candidate is not only analytical but also has vision: someone who can craft new ideas informed by data and insight to help shape winning campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate data and trends in our business and in our marketing to come up with ideas for new campaigns and creative concepts that you think would perform

  • Determine the metrics, thresholds, and reporting needed to enhance the Growth Marketing team’s ability to quickly spot opportunities, identify winning patterns, take action, and maximize impact

  • Define when to run structured experiments versus descriptive analysis to generate campaign insights and oversee their timelines, budgets, execution, and communications through a learning agenda

  • Partner with the Performance Marketing Creative Manager to synthesize and package insights into actionable direction for creative briefs and rapid ad iteration

  • Improve conversion rates by sharing campaign insights and testing hypotheses with Product to build more cohesion across customer touchpoints (e.g. between marketing ads and product landing pages)

  • Be a thought partner and subject matter expert to Marketing, Data Science, Product, Finance or other XFN on analyses and special projects that leverage growth marketing data

Requirements

  • 7+ years in growth marketing, marketing analytics, strategy and operations, or other roles that require a blend of analytics, strategic thinking, and heavy cross-functional interaction

  • Subject matter expertise in digital marketing data, strategies, and best practices

  • High comfort level executing comprehensive analyses and shifting between the macro and micro

  • Experience managing a learning agenda and overseeing research and experiments

  • Exceptionally strong written, verbal, and visual communication with the ability to 1) translate data into actionable insight, 2) engage a variety of stakeholders (technical and non), and 3) influence the business

  • Resourceful, endlessly curious, and has a high comfort level managing complex initiatives

  • High tolerance for change and the capacity to accomplish enormous amounts of work in a fast-paced environment

  • Respect, understanding, and enthusiasm for the Netflix culture

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
