DIRECTV is seeking an experienced Manager of Content Reporting and Analysis to lead our team in interpreting complex content contracts and managing financial operations related to programmer payments. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can work with minimal supervision to analyze high-complexity agreements, manage stakeholder communications, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts and provide strategic insights to support business decisions.

Here's what you’ll do:

  • Read and interpret high-complexity content contracts to identify business rules and configurations required for operationalizing payments to programmers.
  • Manage communication with a dedicated set of programmers, overseeing reporting, payments, and vendor updates.
  • Audit the accuracy of complex source data received and ensure the integrity of financial implementations.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits, leading research efforts on audit findings with minimal supervision.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peers in other departments to facilitate information exchange and collaboration.
  • Make strategic recommendations to the deal analysis team and FP&A based on contract interpretations and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate with business partners to agree on key changes and required implementations to appropriately operationalize contracts.
  • Perform detailed analysis of financial implementation of content contracts, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Gather, interpret, and evaluate financial information related to a dedicated set of programmers, analyzing trends and opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Lead a team of analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in content reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and presentations to senior management on content performance, financial impacts, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure proper interpretation and implementation of contract terms.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations in all reporting and analysis activities.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; MBA or relevant master's degree a plus.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in content reporting, financial analysis, or a similar role within the media or entertainment industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and operationalize complex contracts and financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools; experience with SQL or other database query languages required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring a team of analysts.
  • In-depth knowledge of content licensing, rights management, and royalty payments in the media industry.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Experience in auditing and reconciling complex financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptability and willingness to stay current with evolving industry trends and technologies.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States with a preference for the Los Angeles area to attend occasional in office opportunities with the team. #LI-Remote

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $65,645 - $119,255

Low (N1): $65,645 - $98,515

Mid (N2): $69,100 - $103,700

High (N3): $76,010 - $114,070

Top (N4): $79,465 - $119,255
