We are seeking a Manager, Business Engagement to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefiting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. Together, we are building stronger communities by getting students and colleges the resources they need to succeed and expanding pathways to economic and social mobility across California. What You’ll Do

The Foundation for California Community Colleges is on a mission to double its impact in the next ten years. We are a group of relentless optimists and innovators in education, working collaboratively with public and private partners to improve the student experience and expand pathways to economic and social mobility in communities across California. The LAUNCH Apprenticeship Network is a member of the Collaborative Impact team of the Foundation for California Community Colleges and supports meaningful connections between students and employers in California through work-based learning and support services.

 

This position represents an exciting opportunity to help shape and lead program development and technical assistance related activities for initiatives that focus on the expansion of new and innovative pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeships as pathways for low-wage workers to secure middle-skill jobs in California and addressing racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in the labor market.

  • Industry Engagement & Facilitation:

    • Develop and manage employer advisory groups to assess the quality of apprenticeship programs, including evaluating competencies and validating training curricula.

    • Engage industry associations to connect local employers with community college apprenticeship programs. 

  • Employer Engagement Strategy:

    • Engage with small, medium, and large businesses to promote statewide apprenticeship adoption through the K-14 system.

    • Manage relationships with, coordinate and evaluate workforce intermediary partnerships to enhance apprenticeship job placement for education partners.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

    • Produce reports and presentations that demonstrate the impact and reach of industry engagement for apprenticeship initiatives

    • Engage in proactive risk management, staying ahead of evolving compliance guidelines, industry shifts, and emerging workforce demands.

Attributes for Success 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience in workforce development, employer engagement, apprenticeship, and/or higher education, and progressive experience in managing program implementation or project management

  • Familiarity with state and federal apprenticeship regulations and funding streams.

  • Innovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship are encouraged as employees work to achieve organizational goals

  • FoundationCCC blends the impact of a non-profit, the culture of an entrepreneurial start-up, and the scale of a state agency

  • Team members are hired for their expertise in niche areas across our areas of impact and higher education overall, and for their knowledge of business, philanthropy, technology, communications, and more

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
