Overview

We're an LA-based retail tech company that partners directly with brands and retailers, running TikTok and Whatnot channels across women's apparel, men's streetwear, footwear, home goods, beauty, and more. We're building a live shopping experience and looking for dynamic hosts to be the face of it. The ideal candidate brings a polished on-camera presence and the energy to keep a live audience engaged and coming back. This role streams out of our office in West Hollywood.

About the Role

Ghost is seeking a proactive and organized Live Stream Moderator to support our live selling sessions. The moderator will ensure a smooth and positive live shopping experience by managing interactions, maintaining community standards, and assisting our hosts during live streams, while also supporting inventory tracking and pricing strategy for products featured on air.

Key Responsibilities:

Live Chat Moderation & Engagement

  • Monitor live chat during selling sessions to ensure a positive, respectful, and engaging environment
  • Engage with viewers by pinning comments, highlighting questions, and encouraging participation
  • Filter and report inappropriate comments or behavior to the relevant teams promptly

Community Standards & Compliance

  • Enforce community guidelines and platform policies to prevent spam, inappropriate content, or disruptive behavior
  • Stay updated on new platform features and best practices for live selling
  • Uphold a professional and welcoming tone across all live sessions

Host & Session Support

  • Assist the host by managing questions, comments, and any technical issues that arise during the live broadcast
  • Track viewer engagement and provide feedback for future live stream improvements

Inventory & Pricing Strategy

  • Monitor and manage inventory questions or issues related to products being showcased during live sessions
  • Coordinate with the inventory and pricing teams to ensure showcased products reflect accurate, real-time pricing and availability
  • Provide input on pricing strategy adjustments based on live viewer demand and engagement trends

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in live chat moderation, social media management, customer service, or e-commerce preferred
  • Strong understanding of TikTok, Whatnot, or similar platform, features and live streaming environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain professional and patient during live sessions
  • Good problem-solving skills and quick decision-making in a fast-paced, real-time environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Basic familiarity with inventory management and pricing strategy concepts, or willingness to learn
  • Multilingual abilities and/or a passion for social media trends and community building are a plus
  • Ability to be onsite in our West Hollywood office 

Our total compensation for this position can range from $25 - $35 per hour. We have multiple openings for this role and will consider both part-time and full-time schedules. The actual amounts may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the position.
