Nelson Mullins law firm is seeking talented and driven Associate Attorneys with 3-6 years of experience to join our growing litigation team in San Diego. This is an exciting opportunity for lawyers who have developed a strong foundation in California civil litigation and have prior experience defending manufacturers, distributors, dealerships or other corporate clients in matters arising under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act (California Lemon Law).   As an AmLaw 100 firm, this is a unique opportunity to join an expanding practice in a growing office.  We are looking for local candidates that can sit in our San Diego office but are also open to candidates from the greater Los Angeles area that can sit in our Downtown LA and Torrance offices.

A Day in the Life

As a member of our nationally recognized litigation practice, you will work alongside skilled trial lawyers representing sophisticated clients in high exposure matters while enjoying the collaborative culture, professional  development opportunities, and national platform of an AmLaw firm.


What You'll Do•    Handle all phases of litigation in state and federal courts.•    Manage cases under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and related consumer litigation matters.•    Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions.•    Conduct written discovery, take and defend depositions, and manage e-discovery.•    Prepare witnesses and corporate representatives for deposition and trial.•    Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and strategic case evaluations.•    Collaborate with attorneys across Nelson Mullins' national litigation platform.


Compensation & Benefits


Expected Salary Range:  $185,000-$255,000


Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and market factors.

We Know You

Qualifications:


  • J.D. from an accredited Law School
  • Active member of the California State Bar
  • 3-6 years of civil litigation experience
  • Experience defending claims under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act strongly preferred
  • Defense-side experience representing manufacturers, automotive companies, dealerships, insurers and other corporate clients.
  • Deposition experience and strong motion-writing skills
  • Trial preparation experience required; courtroom and trial experience preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and written and oral advocacy abilities
  • Ability to manage matters independently while working effectively within a team environment
