Nelson Mullins is seeking a talented and driven Complex Litigation & Product Liability Attorney with 5-7 years of experience to join our growing litigation team in Downtown Los Angeles. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a nationally recognized law firm representing manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and other corporate clients in sophisticated product liability, mass tort, and complex commercial litigation matters.

Our attorneys handle high-exposure cases across a variety of industries and work collaboratively to develop innovative defense strategies that achieve outstanding results for our clients.

About the Role

As a member of our Defense Team, you will represent manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and other corporate defendants. Attorneys in this practice play a key role in all phases of case management, from fact investigation and discovery through motion practice, expert development, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

A Day in the LifeResponsibilities
  • Represent clients in complex litigation and product liability defense matters in state and federal courts.
  • Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
  • Develop litigation strategy in partnership with clients, partners, and expert witnesses.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices on national and regional litigation matters.
We Know You
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active membership in the California Bar.
  • 5-7 years of experience in complex litigation, product liability defense, mass torts, or related civil defense matters.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience drafting motions, managing discovery, and taking or defending depositions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trial and courtroom experience are a plus.
  • At Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
    • In either its Los Angeles or Torrance offices, the salary/wage range is $235,000-$280,000 annually.
