About Teal Health:

At Teal Health, we’re on a mission to provide women with the tools, access, and resources they need to make informed decisions about their health, starting with cervical cancer screening.

We believe it’s time to redesign women’s health and put women, their preferences, and their experiences at the center. By offering women the choice to self-collect from the comfort and convenience of home, we can expand access to life-saving preventive care and help eliminate cervical cancer in the U.S.

Our Values:

We boldly champion the future women deserve. And we do this through our values, which are to elevate women, expect exceptional, and learning, every day. The Teal team lives our values and uses them to guide our decisions when building Teal.

Why We Are Hiring For This Role

We’re looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to build and optimize the systems, journeys, and personalized touchpoints that help patients move from interest to action and ultimately stay engaged in preventive care.

This role will own lifecycle strategy and execution across the full patient funnel, from lead conversion and appointment attendance to kit return, abnormal follow-up adherence, and repeat screening engagement. You’ll build a highly personalized, data-driven patient engagement engine that improves conversion and adherence at every stage of the journey. This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who is equal parts strategist, operator, and optimizer. You’ll partner closely with marketing, product, medical operations, customer support, commercial and data teams to continually improve the patient experience and remove friction from every touchpoint.

How We Work

We believe that:

  1. Working together should be challenging, fun, and supportive.

  2. Decisions are made better by including diverse perspectives and respectfully challenging one another.

  3. We should be insanely proud of the work we put into the world.

  4. Great companies are built by investing in exceptional people and teams.

  5. Hard work matters, but so does making space to recharge and celebrate wins.

  6. We view AI as a powerful co-pilot, not the driver. We encourage candidates to leverage AI tools to optimize their workflows and scale their impact, provided it enhances—rather than replaces—the critical thinking and original effort required for the role.

What You'll Do
  • Own lifecycle strategy and execution across Teal’s direct-to-consumer and B2B patient journeys, from initial outreach and acquisition through screening completion, follow-up care, retention, and repeat engagement.

  • Build, optimize, and continuously improve patient journeys that increase conversion, appointment attendance, kit return rates, abnormal follow-up adherence, and repeat screening participation.

  • Develop highly personalized, segmented lifecycle programs across the full Teal channel stack and patient journey— email, SMS, portal chat, portal reminders, direct mail, voice AI and ringless voicemail. Design and implement lifecycle infrastructure, CRM systems, automation, and engagement tools to create a scalable, intelligent, and personalized patient engagement engine.

  • Continually refine audience segmentation, behavioral triggers, and patient journeys to reduce friction and improve funnel movement.

  • Create and execute structured testing programs across messaging, timing, channels, incentives, and patient experiences to improve conversion and adherence outcomes.

  • Own lifecycle analytics, reporting, and funnel performance measurement, identifying drop-off points and translating patient behavior insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Partner closely with product, growth, engineering, medical operations, revenue strategy, and customer support teams to optimize onboarding, patient flows, and the end-to-end experience.

  • Manage HIPAA- and TCPA-compliant lifecycle communications and privacy-safe engagement practices across all patient touchpoints, including proper consent and opt-out handling across SMS, voice, and automated channels.

  • Stay current on lifecycle marketing best practices, consumer behavior trends, personalization strategies, and healthcare engagement innovations.

What We're Looking ForRequired
  • 5–8+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, retention, growth marketing, or customer journey optimization with a proven track record of measurable business impactProven experience building and optimizing lifecycle programs and reporting dashboards across multiple channels and systems

  • Strong experimentation discipline — designing tests and reading funnel data to identify what genuinely moves outcomes, and investing behind it.

  • Strong working command of HIPAA and TCPA for patient communications a plus — PHI-safe practices and proper consent/opt-out handling, with the judgment to distinguish marketing from treatment/appointment messages and apply the right consent standard to each.

  • Experience building highly personalized customer journeys focused on conversion using lifecycle platforms such as HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Customer.io, Klaviyo, or similar.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer and funnel data to identify opportunities and improve performance.

  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to move quickly in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Exceptional communication, organization, and prioritization skills.

Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, digital health, wellness, or regulated consumer industries.

  • Experience with emerging patient-engagement channels — voice AI, ringless voicemail, and patient in-portal messaging.

  • Fluency in long, non-linear patient journeys that play out over months to years, with dormancy windows, re-engagement after gaps, and recurring re-screening cadences.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA-compliant communications, patient engagement, or healthcare lifecycle marketing, including vendor/BAA diligence and TCPA consent requirements when selecting and integrating engagement tools.

  • Experience optimizing journeys tied to appointments, adherence, activation, or behavior change, especially where completion and follow-through carry clinical or financial weight.

  • Experience supporting B2B2C programs for health systems, employers, payors, benefits providers, or other population health partners.

  • Experience with experimentation frameworks, segmentation / eligibility-based journey design, or predictive lifecycle strategies.

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
  • Teal has a fully operational, highly personalized lifecycle engine that measurably improves the metrics at the center of both patient outcomes and the business: appointment/visit completion, kit return and adherence, abnormal-result follow-up, and repeat screening.

  • The lifecycle engine is the primary driver of patient commitment and follow-through — sustaining and improving completion and adherence through behavioral design and well-timed, personalized engagement.

  • Appointment attendance, kit return rates, follow-up adherence, and repeat screening participation consistently improve through optimized journeys — protecting genuine completion, not just booked volume.

  • Lifecycle success metrics are defined and owned jointly with Revenue Strategy & Operations, with attribution built and validated over time.

  • Lifecycle programs are deeply segmented, continuously tested, and increasingly personalized based on patient behaviors and motivations.

  • Funnel drop-off points are clearly identified, measured, and reduced

  • Patient communications become smarter, more timely, and more effective, increasing overall conversion and lifetime engagement.

  • Lifecycle performance reporting provides clear visibility into funnel health, adherence, and conversion opportunities.

  • Teal establishes a best-in-class patient engagement experience that drives both better health outcomes and business performance.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
